Ship his ass out and stop asking for the moon. 2nd round pick from them should do it.

Works for me, especially when Flynn causes the team to implode.

I've been thinking about this whole thing and would accept a 2nd rounder too.

LOL, absolutely....Interesting they should come to us.

I like DaDa's idea about taking off the restriction, but believe it will cost more on our part.

Obviously the Knicks need a pure point, and there is the chance, however remote, that this will come back and bite us in the @$$. Flynn goes home and helps them out of their morass. Yeah, right... not this year. I'll take that risk all day if the price is right. We have major leverage and interesting possibilities abound.

I think he's worth more than a second rounder. His stats his first year in the league were pretty good for a rookie. Don't know why he's fallen off, though. He just hasn't had playing time here because of Dragic (who is underrated on this board bigtime).

Can we trade Flynn for Jordan from NYK? A 7ft C prospect with very little seasoning. Maybe Bill Walker, too, as a defensive stopper at guard.

he might be worth more than a 2nd rounder, but I'd still make that trade if nothing better is offered

Flynn for a pick is the most reasonable option since it seems the Rockets are trying to make the play-offs and they'll be losing their pick to NJ, if they do.

The problem with removing the restriction is we are assuming that the Knicks will suck enough that there is a high chance they will obtain a top 5 pick. Unless you are the bottom 5 teams in the league, there is little to no chance for you to obtain the 5th pick.

    Low risk, high reward.

Not like Flynn is doing much here anyway.

The chances of them going top 5 isn't very good. Having Dragic might get them into the playoffs. Taking off the restriction wouldn't make any different.

Actually, giving them Flynn might make them worse because dumb D'Antoni might play him in front of Lin.

Flynn had hip surgery which, apparently, derailed his career

I'll take a second rounder and not look back. Morey has worked some nice magic with 2nd round draft picks (Landry, Parsons, Bud, Llull).

Guys, no offense but I don't want any more 2nd round picks, our roster is full of low first early 2nd round picks.

We need some first round picks and maybe a few of them to move up to the upper half in a draft at some point.

We have enough young role players, we need to step up to the plate with a heavy bat, and swing away !

Probably would be delt to these teams for picks and cash. Although i wouldn't mind taking back one of the lakers rookies in darious morris or andrew goudelock

I'd ask for a future first, make it lottery protected throughout. If we can't get that, I suppose I'd take a second.

We need unprotected picks that we can throw into trades to get what we want. Load up on those picks so we can draft some roleplayers after Daryl makes his inevitable 6 for 1 trade.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, if we get the pick it doesn't mean we have to keep it and use it. Having an extra pick is just another weapon in our arsenal, so come draft night we have better chance to move up or around..

Also I think we undervalue the value of Jonny Flynn. The guy was a former lottery pick, who is still only 22yrs old, and could still put it together. So on potential alone, he should still net us a 1st rd pick.

Plus the Lakers aren't that high in the standing, so the pick may not be as late in the 1st round as some may think....

Not if there's a whisper of a chance that the collection of 09ers, as a group, can bring us something worthwhile.

We've got a 9-10 man rotation and need a center and/or a star. Trading Flynn (and his expiring deal) for someone that isn't cracking the lineup is pointless. I love this draft, but the only reason to add even more picks would be if we clear out the lineup for a big fish.
