He is extremely unlikely to play the Rockets, and if he misses an extended period then we're looking at another falling top seed.

I would almost rather he play so that we won't have to hear excuses.

    Though a W is a W.

In the last matchup Lakers won at Houston and that was pre-Gasol.

Lakers have two star players in Kobe and Odom.
Odom has been on fire in his last several games
    Battier can't shut down Kobe.
    Fisher can shut down McGrady.
If that happens and the Rockets team offense continues to suck...

Really? I would rather have as easy of a game as possible. You don't get an extra win for beating a good team. We are going to need all of the wins that we can get with he hard stretch we have coming up and the tightness of the west.

McGrady was injured in that game.
Bynum was tearing us up on the boards back then.
    We didn't have Mike Harris.
Lakers still need rebounds and possessions if they want Kobe and Odom to score.

As far as public perception goes (not sure how much it even matters at this point), this is a lose-lose situation for us. If we win, the haters will say we beat a banged up Laker squad with no Pau. If we lose, the haters will say, "I told you the Rockers ain't all that. They can't even beat a banged up Laker squad."

If I remember correctly, we did not have T-Mac that game and our offense was basically give Yao the ball until 3 or 4 guys run at him so that he can either score or pass it back out.

That is a great plan, only problem was that we weren't hitting our shots and the team was confused as to what spot they should be in. Now, however, we have picked up our intensity of D again and our offense is much more fluid in part because our shots are going down (at least before the last two games).

I think we could take the Lakers. Fisher WILL NOT stop this new T-Mac that we are watching since Yao's injury. I have watched Fisher and he is having a hard time staying in front of guys and if Mac continues to drive to the basket, we will get him in foul trouble.

My biggest concern is keeping Odom and Turiaf off the boards. Especially Odom because with him, it is all about his confidence. If we don't let him get too confident during the game, it will just be a Kobe show. And as we have seen in the past, Teams > than Kobe show!

We're even clutch in other teams injuries against us! Well, wouldn't make anything if Gasol was playing on Sunday, because as Dream used to say, "We're unbeatable!".
