I'm convinced this guy wasn't drafted because he looks goofy running end to end. From his highlights he is surprisingly quick in the half court off the dribble. Didn't know his back to the basket game was so good. He looks more comfortable in the post than DMO to be honest. DMO has that hook, but Kyle looks like he has a multitude of ammunition on the block. I don't know if Pringles plays rookies, but this cat is automatic. Imagine if Harden had players that could shoot basketballs? 200 assists a night. Future favorite of DD's for sure. DD curse on Kyle incoming.
And his positioning on the block is giving me a half chub. If Rockets can find someone that understands what he is doing with his body on the block in relation to the basket AND CAN PASS HIM THE BALL... oh boy. He doesn't look very strong, but in these highlights, he is bodying players on the block that look stronger than him.
Dekker is 22, Wiltjer will be 24 when his rookie season starts, DMo just had his 26th birthday. There is a reason why Wiltjer wasn't drafted - there's not much space left for growth, who he is now he might be for the rest of his career. I imagine some posters think he's 19, because he looks that way.
Ah come on guys, this made it seem like he was actually signed to a guaranteed contract or something...
Wiltjer isn't without talent. He was a 5* recruit for Kentucky. Yes he does have limitations and he's not going to wow you as a player, but the great thing is he has shown to have a tremendous understanding for the game. One thing is for sure is he can flat out shoot and if you have confidence in that he has a place on a MDA team any day
I don't think this is fair, this will be his first season in the NBA. Not saying he will be good but saying since he's 24 this is the best he will get is ridiculous. Give the guy a season or two to play at the highest level and in the world and see if he will grow.
