Unless the Knicks are sending Shumpert + expiring salary, Toronto has absolutely 0 reasons to do a deal with the Knicks. Lowry's value even in his last year is worth more than basically nothing but Felton's fat expiring arse.
Good luck. These are the 3 teams with literally NO DRAFT PICKS which are essential here. The only draft pick available would be a 2014 Sacramento pick that the Knicks own... Owe, and that pick is protected from 31 to 55 meaning... Toronto would never get that pick regardless. If you are the GM of these 3 teams, and you call Ujiri about Lowry, you should just be embarrassed. Only team that has a chance of these 3 is the Knicks and they MUST involve Shumpert.
Kyle would love that. Problem is he's gonna be looking for money after this year. Don't think Hinkie will give it to him.
I don't know what Ujiri's philosophy is on trading within the conference, but I hope to God he doesn't go to GSW. That would be a HUGE upgrade for them.

Lowry on GSW or NYK would greatly help those teams. That move for NYK would probably turn that ship around pretty easily. Lowry is good in the half court and he can push the pace plus he is a gritty defender. Lowry/Smith/Melo/Bargani/Chandler is a pretty good team.
He'd be good off the bench for the Warriors or Nets, though he'd could start and be a major factor for New York and Miami.
Why does GSW need Lowry again? as a Jarrett Jack 2.0? Curry insurance? Knicks make the most sense as they currently have no good pg or defense. But I have no idea what they have to offer.

GSW could certainly use Lowry. It is isn't that simple. Consider that if the Rockets get someone like Lowry cheap, they can then include Lin or Beverley in a deal with Asik and possibly get a better player in return. Adding a legitimate quality 1/2 at little cost really opens up the trade market. What if Al Horford is available? If the Rockets can deal Asik and Beverley for him, they are in a better spot to get him..... there are a number of scenarios. What if getting Lowry keeps the Thunder from getting him?
That's exactly what they need him for. Lowry is a significant upgrade over Toney Douglas, and Bazemore/Nedovic don't exactly provide a whole lot of depth for them.
Have NY acquire Lowry then we'll trade them Lin. We shed Lin's contract and get back another pg who can help us win now. Lowry's contract expires at the end of the year so it won't hurt us if we want to go after another superstar.
That was years ago, and Lowry stated prior to being dealt that he would be willing to play for McHale. Also, the circumstances are very different now. Lowry is playing for a contract, he will be on his best behavior. You send out feelers and find out if Lowry is even interested.... if not, you do not make the deal.
This is off the subject, but JR Smith is probably the most cancerous player in NBA history. Stupid shot selection, does stupid things off the court, plus his defense is non existence. The Knicks will NEVER be taken seriously until they trade his azz out of NY.
