I love how Kyle has been playing, I was wrong about AB being better, Kyle is clearly a better player.

    Kyle has simply been amazing.

Big ups to Kyle Lowry !

Lowry's been inspiring with his play as of late. In New Orleans he didn't allow us to lose. He showed a lot of heart in Portland too by putting that gargoyle Patty Mills in his place. It seems like every game there is a play where he snags a rebound between two seven footers and puts it right back up like there is no height difference at all. He also will have at least one play a game where he strips the ball away from an unsuspecting big on the post. He helps the team in so many ways and his new found stroke is putting him over the top. He's been a joy to watch as of late and is becoming my favorite player.

He's becoming a very solid winning PG.
He now has to find the balance between his developed scoring skills and his natural distributing game. He will do it with games, he's smart and wants to improve like nobody. We have our PG, finally. Maybe the best news of the season.

One thing about Lowry is that he's been creating opportunities for himself and for teammates very well from all kinds of plays: p'n'r, hand off, iso. He's really been the engine that you want your PG to be.

He also does a ton of things important to winning: defends well, picks up loose balls (the offensive rebound/putback is especially useful), pushing the ball on the break so that the defense knows they'll have to run back.

Loving his play right now. I wonder if he can have a Chauncey Billups-like career arc as a late-bloomer. Low probability but maybe he has a shot. At the very least, I think he is most likely Houston's best player right now.

get this...since the end of November he is shooting

    >39% from 3s.

That's a significant stretch of games.

Kyle is a bad ass, always playing tuff, you have to love it.
I agree don't bring in anybody else at point, I think we are set at point for the next few years.

If he just continues his good play, he can be as good as these elite point guards. He practically does everything for the rockets.

Agree, however it was more to praise Lowry and how much he has improved his shooting to the point that his numbers are in Martin's ballpark.

A top 10 point guard next year for sure.

Here is an interesting stat. Terrence Williams is 23 years old. Kyle Lowry is 24 years old.

Yet not until recently some people still thought Williams had "potential" to be an allstar while Lowry is who he is: a placeholder.

    Funny how those things work.

On top of running the offense and getting his numbers, Lowry is a good defender that doesn't get bowled over by every other guard in the league. That's what Lowry does that Brooks will never do.

It's not really Brooks' fault either. It's just hard to be a lock down defender being 5'10" 155lbs.

i've said this before the season started, lowry isnt a bad shooter, just a hesitant one. Once he has his mind made up, he's a pretty good shooter. All 3 pt shooting does is display range. 3pt shooting has nothing to do with being a good shooter. Grant Hill just became a decent 3 pt shooter, but he's always been a good shooter.

I think a star is a stretch....but he's probably a lock to be our starting pg for quite a while. It'll come down to his ability to hit shots...seems like he has to really concentrate to hit them. I'm not sure if he's more accurate earlier in games, but kind of feels like it.

He's definitely not given enough props around the NBA, especially by fans.

He's becoming Andre Miller with a three point shot. Miller combines toughness and craftiness and Lowry's showing those same qualities. He's carving his way into the lane despite not having elite speed. He's no longer a reckless bulldog, but a true floor leader.

Lowry is missing some inches, but he would be league renowned if not for that.

I'll give the OP some props for looking on the bright side of this loss against the Suns.

I was looking for a different quote from Daryl Morey when we traded for Kyle Lowry but I found this first. (from FEB 19-2009 I think)

“Kyle is an underrated player who will help us now and we can build around in the future. He is a very good rebounder and defender who can attack the basket in the half court and transition, finish, and make the kick out pass to shooters". (Note I left out the Brian Cook stuff) LOL.

    Read more: http://www.insidehoops.com/blog/?p=3539#ixzz1G5L2zy9Q

The quote I was looking for said something like "I have been very high on Kyle Lowry for a long time". I'll look around some more and try to find the right quote.

One more thing. When K-Low first got here RA started playing him right away and K-Low did a good job..

RA played Dragic right away too and we see what he is doing for us.

I just wanted to show the parallel of this trade for a PG. Lets hope it gets even better. I'll DM props for this point guard trade too.

I was going to say this. I don't wanna have a favorite player fizzle out like AB did.

And OP.... Sssshhhhhh, don't jinx it. Let's keep Lowry a secret. :)

I think Morey once mentioned that he had Lowry pegged out of college as either the 6th best player in his draft class or the most likely to have a good career out of his draft class.
