Lebron is above the game imo, the rest of his batchmates have retired/become role players but he is still a superstar. He has clearly transcended the game limitations if you are matching him up with new stars 10 yrs later.

Who among his batchmates are still playing besides Melo at this point? Kawhi can't even complete a full season without rest never mind staying in the league as long as Lebron has had. Bron is an old man by now he technically hasnt been the best player since KD went to the Warriors. But he still gets the mantle "best player" out of respect of what he has done and what he still is after more than a decade of excellence. Just like how MJ is still the GOAT when if you are gonna be realistic, Lebron, Giannis, Kawhi and KD would have been better players than him if they all played together considering how athletically gifted they all are over MJ. But since MJ has the 2 three peats and dominated his gen the way these people havent done he is the goat.

This would be a gigantic upgrade for the Lakers, so of course it will happen, because the Lakers are gifted everything.
