How about the #1, #15, and Mo Taylor for Kwame Brown, #11, and Brendan Haywood? MJ would cherish a chance to get back in the spotlight whether he's playing or not, and it is believed the Wiz are already giving up on Kwame. Brown could make a fearsome tag team with Griffin at the forward position that would be the envy of the league for years. Also, Haywood has a legitimate shot to be a consistent 13 and 8/9 guy. His upside seems to be about as good as Elden Campbell, but last I checked our center was Kelvin Cato. If the Wizards would do this, I think the Rockets would have to pull the trigger. At 11, the door would be wide open and we would probably go for best available or another guard, perhaps the Tskitishvili guy or Kareem Rush. Our depth chart would look like this: Center: Kelvin Cato/Brendan Haywood/(Jason Collier) Power Forward: Eddie Griffin/Kenny Thomas Small Forward: Kwame Brown/Glen Rice/Terence Morris Shooting Guard: Cuttino Mobley/Kareem Rush/Oscar Torres Point Guard: Steve Francis/Moochie Norris If we kept this team together, signed them to long term deals, and the young'n's fulfilled most of their potential, we could be looking at a contender for 8-10 years.
How about 15 and Mo T for Brown? Except for the fact that it doesn't work under the cap and Washington probably wouldn't want Taylor, that comes a lot closer to being better from a Rockets standpoint. That first trade sets the Rockets BACK a few years....Haywood has journeyman talent written all over him, the 11th pick is lower than the 1st, and Brown - while he may have potential - has proven nothing.
well you COULD argue that jordan never worked w/ such a raw player before. kwame just needs some time to adjust and hone his skills. but then you could argue that jordan never gave up on bill wennington ..and yet..he already 'gave up' on brown as well.
