I like what the guy brings to the table, he could be an experienced back-up and with his versatility could provide a much needed offensive option...

    our Randle El?

I would much rather have Randel El. Is Kordell a FA? If not, anyone know what his contract is like? I would imagine he makes a hefty chunk of change.

well, a) he's not any good; b) he'll want to go somewhere where he can at least compete for playing time. that's not happening in houston.

if (when) released, he'd be an unrestricted FA, free to sign any deal with any team for any amount.

he's set to make $6.3M this year; of that, the steelers would have to absorb a $1.6M cap hit to release him (what's left of his signing bonus).

He's a quality backup. If that's what he wants to be.

He's said he wants a chance to start, so probably very little chance of him landing in houston.

I like Kordell as a backup, he will probably have a chance to compete somewhere, just not sure where.

arizona, baltimore, carolina, chicago, possibly even cincinnati, dallas, jacksonville and miami. all could be offering what the texans will not: a chance to start.

    Kordell Stewart
The Miami Dolphins are interested in Stewart, according to the Palm Beach Post. However, coach Dave Wannstedt has said repeatedly that Jay Fiedler will be his starting quarterback next season. “(Stewart) wants to start, but it’s unclear where there will be a starting spot,” said Stewart's agent, Leigh Steinberg. “No one is simply going to give Kordell a starting spot, but I think the best thing to do is find a competitive situation." The Chicago Bears are also reportedly in Stewart.

Doubt it, he looks like he will be a late first rounder.

However, that could change depending on how well he does in the pre draft combine in Indy.

Hear is a little insight as to where will Kordell land

First of all.....Texans = Kordell and his ego being a backup to
young second year quarterback David Carr on a second year expansion team. It would never work. Plus the Texans need to spend the money they have on good free agents they need like OL's to protect Carr and recievrs that could catch the DAMN ball!!!!!!

Arizona, Cincinnati = Never, he would never even consider going to franchises who are that bad.

Dal, Jax, Mia = They all have quarterbacks that the teams are confident in and yes, that includes the Cowboys. Jerry Jones believes that Hutch is the QB of the future of this team. Big Mistake. Last year he said this about Quincy Carter and look what happened to him. Some future he had !!!!!!!!!

Chicago = You can slash them from this list too. With the 4th pick in hand, Bears fans are already practicing on how to say "Leftwich" in their best Chicago style voice without bitting their tongues off.:D

Carolina = A possibility because they have some good players to build around with Mohammed and Peppers. One problem though. Kordell is not a future quarterback, he is todays QB so you cant really build around him for the future.

Seattle = Holmgren could decide that Dilfer is too big of a risk with all of his past injuries and could bring in Kordell to replace him. Remember, Holmgren's ass is on the hot seat so he will do anything to make this team a winner or else, he will hear the words Bischoff heard from Vince McMahon, YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!
And kissing the owner's ass wont help Homlgren out either.

St Louis = After the fallout with Martz over his injury and his wife going ballisitic on the franchise on the local sports radio ststion, and not to mention on how he has been outplayed by a third stringer (Marc Bulger) its safe to say Kurt Warner's ride with the Rams is over. Only question here is will the team go after a free agent QB (paging Kordell...) or stick with Bulger.

Teams with the best shot of landing Kordell

Baltimore = By far the team with the best situation for Kordell is the Ravens. They still have a great defense and a decent offense despite being shredded by the cap last offseason. In fact, they are one QB away form being a serious contender. Think about it, they challenged Pittsburgh for the division up untill the last couple of weeks with Redman as their QB!!! Imagine what Kordell could do for these guys against his former team.

Denver = Griese is outta hear faster than a Larry Walker home run ball in Coors Field. Kordell did play college ball up the road a little in Boulder for Colorado. Could their be a homecoming in the works. Or is Jake the Snake more to the Broncos liking. We will see.........

Mighty good question. Perhaps it is Houston. Perhaps he'll be signed to drive the Carr out of town?

    Perhaps not.

Thanks for the peak into the future Nuastradumbass. :D

First Kordell isnt good enough to be so choosy. If Arizona or
Cincinnati come a calling he better listen.

Second Do you really think the Rams would consider Kordell? I can't. My money is on Bulger or Warner leading them back to the playoffs next year.

You are 100% correct in saying that Jerry is making a mistake if he thinks Hutch is the immediate answer at QB. He made the same mistake with Quincy.

The thing is, now Parcells is calling the shots when it comes to football matters. That's why Kordell will not be heading to Dallas. Hutch has the talent to be the future for the Cowboys however I don't believe he is anywhere near ready (however that could change with a solid o-line).

I also don't think that Kordell should go to Houston. The Texans already have their QB, and bringing in Kordell would only create a QB controversy. Kordell can look horrible at times however he also has his good moments (made the Pro Bowl year before last). If he were to come in for Carr at any point and out perform him it could only spell danger for the Texans and Carr. The Texans best bet would be for them to bring in a vet QB that knows he's there to be a backup.

First of all, Warner is done in St Louie, its Bulger or free agent for the Rams.

Second, Kordell wasent good enough to lead Pittsburgh to the AFC finals last year was he? Kordell is good enough to choose his own destiny. He had one bad season, it happens to the best of us. Do you remember Trent Dilfer and his bad year with the Bucs. Very next season, he is in Tampa winning the Super Bowl for the Ravens.

Third, what is with the name calling. We are all grown adults. But I dont know bout' you.

Finally, if you're so smart wise guy, where is Kordell going to endup?

You meant one good season, right? And he stunk it up in the playoffs that year anyway.
