Mike Brown never should have said that. Too much information can be bad. He should have been prepared to give some kind of benign answer to this very obvious question.

Things are already off to a bad start. Yesss!!!!!

Again I just want to echo that sentiment again for our fellow clutchfans to think about. They traded SHAQ! We wont move guys like Tmac and Yao before they broke down. THEY TRADED SHAQ IN HIS PRIME so they could quickly rebuild back to the finals and win Championships and we are debating to trade Martin or Scola because we are afraid of losing not being a 500 team anymore. They traded a Championship caliber player to get rebuild back to a Championship sooner. We wont rebuild in order to save our 500 record.

Yeah, they traded Shaq who went on to win another ring with Miami. Brilliant!

It wasn't the Shaq trade that saved them, it was the Gasol trade.

They got Odom part of that Championship team. They went on to win more Championships than Shaq did. They had more assets to go get Gasol. They did the right thing. Shaq broke down quickly like Tmac and Yao did. They picked the right time to get something for him before he broke down.

The right time. Before Luis and Martin have injuries. Before their values are waisted while we are rebuilding like the right time was missed for Tmac and Yao. Waisted with Brooks and waisted with Battier. The right time is when they have value and when you are not contenders.

Actually Luis is old. Keep Kevin Martin. Luis already has his injury issues popping up.

Yeah I was surprised at how hard Woj attacks Jim Buss in the article. Calling him an incompetent who is overcompensating for being the owner's son and is solely interested in his personal legacy ... he just says outright that the wrong Buss is in charge.

An interesting take on what's going on and a good read, but they're surprisingly hefty accusations for a national columnist to throw at a specific team.

Kobe next to Rose, with a front line of Noah, Gibson and Asik would be nasty

True, Kobe isn't the player that he used to be but he is still pretty damn good.

Late to respond, but wanted to toss in my two cents:

It was a damned if you do situation: Kobe's too hard headed and megalomaniacal to invite him into the process. He either gets his way or he's furious about it. And if you know he just wants a yesman coach that'll let him run amuck (Shaw), why bother?

Like we saw in the postseason, the Lakers are entering a dark transition where Kobe's declining play can't keep up with his supreme alpha dog attitude (ironically, just like what happened in the last year or two with Shaq). That Bynum had the stones to subtly chirp about Kobe needing to defer to him more is ominous.

It's pretty much all Wojnarowski does. He has his targets, and he all but goes low blows.

Agreed he should have just said I had a conversation with Kobe. No need to go into detail about how long or how the conversation was performed.
