I heard the interest on these loans is pretty high.

Smart of him to do it, the players union starts losing leverage when their members start running out of money.

Let's just hope there is good news from the meeting tomorrow and this isn't necessary.

I don't see the owners budging on this. They are millionaires/billionaires from their other businesses, so they can afford to wait it out. Loaning money to other players is going to get old the longer it goes on. So if they want all of their star players to start heading to miami, LA, or NY, sure, they should go ahead and capitulate right now.

Am I the only one who had to google "capitulate"?

I agree. This isn't a gesture of kindness. Kobe's trying to get in the heads of the competition. Cocky for a guy who got swept out of the playoffs.

Kobe's got enough money from stealing money from stupid kids who'd bet money to beat Kobe 1-on-1. Amirite Bowowowo?

Although its a nice gesture, I imagine this would get awkward/ugly if players failed to pay him back..and with the average money management skills of an NBA player, I wouldn't be surprised if some of them ended up having trouble paying him back.

    True.

That's a nice gesture by Kobe, but I suspect it's mainly because he's so rich he won't miss a few million if it never returns.
