Would have been amazing if they gave him the game ball at the end of the game, and everyone gave a standing ovation.

Congratulations Kobe, very well deserved. The sad thing is that he will be a starter in the all star game anyway because idiots who only look at ppg will vote for him. He shouldnt get one single vote, anyone can score a lot of points when taking every single shot away from his teammates. He's shooting 38/28/75  So overrated.

fwiw, when you count FTs, Wilt has missed more shots than Kobe.

He's a top 25 player in my books. Will never understand anyone who has him top 10.

Great, great player in his prime when paired next to a dominant big, but somehow feels like one of the most overrated players at the same time.

This is dumb. He's played 19 seasons. He has played something like 1,600 games. He's #4 on points scored all-time. Number of misses is nothing more than a testament to his longevity, durability, and usage.

Yeah, he should be given the credit he is due. He's given far too much credit for the Shaq titles.

    Jordan TS% 0.569
    Kobe TS% 0.555

Jordan's includes the Washington years. Kobe's will be lower by the time he is done.

    Another sneaky stat:

    Jordan is 20th all time with a Turnover % of 9.34%. Kobe's is 11.61%

Skip Bayless just said that the championships Bryant won without Shaq were "by himself".

You are almost right, he has played around 1300 games. However he is 3rd in the "all time field goal attempts" list (4000! behind Kareem) but managed to get more misses than him and anybody else. Other great players usually are in line with their other rankings (or even better). Another recent example (thats just why I happen to know the numbers right now) is Dirk, #9 all time scoring, #14 in field goal attempts but just #19 in misses. That's clearly the better shooting average, and this is all what this is about. Nobody ever tried to take any of Kobe's other accomplishments away from him, but being 1st all time in field goal misses is simply nothing you can find anything good about unless you are also first in field goal attempts.

Skip Bayless... That dude is hilarious, I remember him mentioning Dirk is not a Hall of Famer. And not before 2011, this summer, some weeks ago. Hate the Mavs or not, but that's just delusional. Now he says Kobe won those championships by himself? Skip Bayless knows nothing about basketball.

His career misses are greater than most players' career makes.
He is... The Most Unimpressive Shooter in The World.

Exactly, he has taken about the same amount of shots as Jordan did (Kobe 24.542, Jordan 24.537 FGA), so you cant say "he played longer than Jordan" n thats the reason why, but managed to miss 1072 more shots than Jordan.

Funny how can anybody compare this dude to MJ.

He's shot like triple the amount of threes compared to anyone else on that top 10 field goal attempt list though. He's not an efficient player but he's not as inefficient as you guys are painting him out to be either. 55.5% career TS% is above league average and not bad at all.

They were. Shaq merely put up a pedestrian 30 and 15 on 65% shooting.

I almost 100% sure that Skip Bayless is much less knowledgeable about the NBA than the average CFer. Part of me thinks he never watches games either

Kobe is 3rd in field goal attempts (5 attempts more than Jordan), and 6th in field goals made (more than 1,000 less than Jordan).
