Desperate move, how do you get a guy that backed up a guy that you just got rid of. Sura's knee didn't look good yesterday, he limped off the court after one play so this has got to be the motivation for this move. Expect more minutes for Barrett until Strickland works off that beer belly he got from his layoff. Barry doesn't cut it at the point, so I would expect the point to be played by Wesley and Barrett until Strickland is ready. I can't believe Rod Strickland is the best we could do.
Guys, let's not be too harsh on Ron, he just needs to collect paycheck, and join the IR list, like Mr Ward did. How hard would that be? I'm sure he's more than adequate to complete his mission.
We'll see how it turns out. On side note, I feel a little bad for Knight, you know you get call up from the NBDL and get to wear the uni for game, they get told to exit stage left. Not that I thought he would add anything but it just crossed my mind.
What I really want to know is what is going to happen to MoTay? Will he be traded by the end of his IR stint???
I say ship him off to the Nets for their Trade Exeption. Than we can som how do a sign and trade w/ Memphis for Swift in the offseason. I think som1 else menchined this as well and it was a good idea so im running with it.
The point is that we are acting as honorable GMs here in this thread. Carrol is not senile - if his moves does not pan out he takes the blame and the boot if need be. The way we respond here to things like these cannot be better that what toddlers do when they are in disagreement with their parents. We are not privy to the bevy of details and information the hired pros as faced with in order to come to their decisions. So it is usually wise to mellow down and wait to see their plans unfold instead of the knee-jerk reactions that is oh so common these days. Some of the half-witted responses in this thread as not necessary (it would have been okay if they were jokes).
I imagine this will go something like when MJ came in last year -- we were all drooling for a game or two when we saw great court vision and efficient, accurate passing. Then we realized that he was just too damn old to do it very often. Man, if they invented a Viagra-like drug that restores basketball-playing ability to aging guys, we'd be a friggin' dynasty.
in all fairness (and I know I have made about a dozen Knick comment already) - Strick only played 132 games with the Knicks and that was 13 years ago - so its not like we signed a Knick lifer
That just made me crack up out loud at work! Thanks, I needed it. Art and crafts on the seoond deck followed by ballroom dancing
