People get drunk at weddings and say things. I'm sure they'd like to play together (which is why Melo is wanting to come to Houston in the first place) but that doesn't mean it will definitely happen that they play together.

Obviously I have no inside info, especially with regard to the future. But... I am not so quick to dismiss the idea that Melo might at some point open up his trade options. His family isn't in Houston so if he's willing to get past it for Houston/CP I could see him justifying it to himself to get past his family thing for another team. And besides, if this thing drags on until Feb, then he'll only be away from his family for a few months, after which he'll be an FA and can go wherever he wants.

Why on earth would Lebron ever show interest in joining the Knicks? They're trash, and Lebron has already made it clear that he won't waive his NTC.

Here's to a deal happening before camp. Woj finds out when it happens; not when it will happen or he would have been ahead of the Irving trade.

He broke the rumors the day off yday.

What team is more attractive than NY at this point? Melo has established he doesn't mind showing up just to collect a paycheck. On paper, the most competitive team is Houston. A distant third was Cleveland. The NBA is a mess at this point with the lack of real competition.

What I see possible is Cleveland might be a possible destination again for the boat boys. Dwade going to get bought out and could very well join Lebron. Then Melo can open up his NTC to Cleveland. And Cleveland can let IT go and sign CP3. Now they have their boat team and in the East. The only thing is Cleveland management sucks and I don't know how bad the blood is between Lebron and Gilbert.

Anywho really hope Morey pulls off this deal asap otherwise more factors could come into play and significantly hurt our chance to get the boat boys here

What teams can afford to eat Ryan andersons contract? From a roster standpoint there are serveral teams that imo he would make the team much better for example the sixers provides more space than saric for fultz and Simmons to operate, put him next to a defensively talented center like embiid, and bring saric off the bench as a sixth man. The sixers also have plenty of young guys to trade and with them poised to have all their players this year they could potentially be a playoff team making their picks not as valuable if they even have any.

He certainly has. No doubt Michelle Beadle and Rachel Nichols were standing over his shoulder heckling him to make sure it wasn't pro-Rockets news he was tweeting out.

“As the Cavs sat on Irving's trade request for more than six weeks, the stalemate led some around the league to wonder if Cleveland was willing to enter into the 2017-18 season with the point guard still on the roster, hoping to mend fences. After all, one of Irving's mentors, Kobe Bryant, requested a trade in the summer of 2007, only to remain with the Los Angeles Lakers and tack on two more championships and three more NBA Finals appearances. Multiple Cavs players told ESPN they hoped Irving would remain on the team, believing they could work out their differences like a family and have another crack at beating the Warriors together.

In recent weeks, that idea became unrealistic, as Irving let it be known that he would rather not report to training camp than begin another season with Cleveland, sources told ESPN.”

Would Melo take it that far? I don't think so, but one can hope.
