Knicks, Rockets working on Carmelo Anthony trade scenarios

Very doubtful Zhou is part of this deal, especially if the Rockets place a lot of value on him.

Because they have no leverage, I suspect Morey is waiting on the Knicks to surrender, not the other way.

 

LOL. Zhou Qi doesn't have nearly the value IRL that this board places on him. He's a 2nd round draft choice that just now came to the NBA and he did okay in the summer league. He doesn't make nearly enough money, nor has he played in the NBA long enough, to matter in this deal. Zhou Qi is not an intriguing enough prospect for a big trade piece.

I guess this Zhou Qi rumor is just blind homerism on here because he's on our team.

Trust me, no one thinks much of Zhou Qi right now. He's just a guy who could develop into a solid rotation player at this point, who knows, but you could say that for a TON of guys in the NBA right now.

 

I think he's a rotation player at best as well, but I also thought that of Jeremy Lin. We see how New York went bonkers for " linsanity" I know he doesn't make that much money but Morey is basically offering Ryan Anderson and fillers in this deal. New York wants assets. Mo Harkless some draft picks and maybe some prospects go to New York, while the third team gets Rhyno. I am not placing that high of a value on him. I am not saying he is the main focus on this deal either. Just a sweetener.

Real Talk, and I'm sure @The Cat and others can describe this better than I can but hearing Melo's interview with SVP, combined with Potato/Woj/Isola/Begley's takes and everything that's played out thus far, I have a high confidence that this deal will get done. It seems all parties agree with the end result, and we're simply in a stasis due to lack of motivation. Once we get closer to training camp, I think all sides get together and make this deal a reality.

Don't forget the Chinese market, though. He'll be huge in New York and if he turns out to be a solid player, the Knicks would get a large portion of fans in China eating up their merchandise.

Yea, um, I remember TMac. I remember DM the GM fleecing the flip out of NY and Sac in that deal. Also remember Kevin Martin coming over, when no one in the league, or the media, thought he was even obtainable.

Kevin Martin was definitely a "star", just, not a "superstar". Kevin Martin also got us a superstar.

But, alas, Melo is not getting the Knicks anything aside from Ryan Anderson, maybe a couple draft stashes, and a 1st or 2nd, depending on what side of the holy bed DM the GM wakes up on that day. Oh, and some fillers, DM will give them some fillers.
