There was a whole year between "basketball reasons" and Harden trade. Look how many assets Morey flips every year, he would have figured it out.
A few months later, the entire Knicks roster is in complete disarray, led by a superstar who wants no part of the team. A year later, the young guys who picked up shitty habits by watching Melo pout and b**** and complain the entire previous season are now running the show, and what do you think they're going to act like?
I like this but I don't "like" this. I'm starting to think DM and the Rockets need to shift gears soon here.
can somebody explain how valuable a tpe of 10+ mill is? Blazer fans thinking this could be involved with a melo deal
If you really think Melo will tank the organization and pout and complain all year long so much that it ruins other players, then I absolutely want no part of him.
He doesn't have to pout or tank, he can just play and act the way he did last season and the lockeroom will be exactly what it was last season (not very good)
I mean Morey himself can't even give you an exact time of when these things go down, how can any "insider" provide that information
The smoke has been coming from the Portland side though. We aren't just imagining it. From last night's tweet from the broadcaster to some of the smoke we saw right after the Crabbe trade...why would they just make up stuff?
Just think about it this way: The Knicks NEED to develop their younger talent, and how can you give them the opportunity if Melo is on the team? Melo would easily be your best scorer who would take the most shots on the team. So what do they do? Sit him on the bench? Cut down on his minutes? Is he supposed to be okay with sitting on the bench or playing less when he's still one of the top scorers in the league? There's no reason for the Knicks to hold on to Melo. They aren't going to just let him play and do what he's done his whole career because the team is completely rebuilding from Porzingis.
Force Melo's hand to do what, stay in the place he forced his way to (NY), where he gets all his $$ and can see his kid? It was clear that the Knicks would suck when he forced a trade there. It was all about the $$ and being in NY. He was unhappy from fighting with Phil, but still wanted to stay in NY. Wanting to be in Hou or Cle with CP3 or LeBron is different from wanting to be out of NY. Folks seem to think it's the latter.
