They'll wait all the way until the last minute to tell Lin they're NOT matching just so it causes a delay on Rox making any more moves until they know Lin's status. What NY fails to realize is that Morey is being very patient this off-season with making moves and the only thing anyone really knows about his plans is that he covets Howard, but who in the league doesn't right now? Lin will be our starting PG this next year and Machado or Ish will probably end up backing him up. Livingston will be released along with at least 2 of the PF's we got thru trades. I say all this on this thread only because we finally have somewhat of an answer to our PG problem. The only questions we have now are SG and C. Will Martin be traded somewhere else if Howard goes elsewhere? And who will our starting and back-up centers be? But it's almost safe to say that Lin will be in a rockets jersey this season.
The New York Daily News reported that Felton and veteran Kurt Thomas would go the Knicks in exchange for center Dan Gadzuric, forward Jared Jeffries and a 2016 second-round draft pick. Several media outlets confirmed the report, but The Oregonian has learned that the deal is not complete and includes several other components coming to Portland. The details of the deal are expected to be finalized today. http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/i...campaign=br_porblazers&utm_source=twitter.com
Considering that his contract was small and that he's been in the league 12 years already, he will be gone before the season starts. A guy that old isn't really someone you would want to keep while rebuilding a team i would think. Having one or two vets on a rebuilding team is good, but what kind of leadership can a guy like Boykins really supply the team. He's been a journeyman his whole career and some years it has been questioned if he was even going to play in the NBA, like last year. He only ended up playing here because of injuries. Lin - Starter Ish Smith - coming back as 2nd string PG Scott Machado - maybe gets a chance to make the squad if we can unload enough PF's to make room for him, unlike what we had to do last year and cut Lin.
What?! So is it a $25 million offer sheet that magically turns into an $18 million contract the moment Knicks don't match? Sounds bull. And why would Lin sign for $6 million a year if he could have gotten more elsewhere?
But, the same the first year. This is old news- the Rockets get to smooth out the cap hit as the signing team. The Rockets are paying more for Lin than for Dragic, and much more tan for Lowry, which makes no basketball sense. Not only has Morey's performance been poor, the McHale effect needs to be considered. Sorry to see it, since McHale remains the greatest power forward in history in my assessment. But he's as failure as coach.
Are you serious dude? I thought everyone on the board would know the Gilbert Arenas Rule inside out by now.
LOL why don't do some reading first, seems you got a lot of catching up to do. After you're done maybe you could explain it to Dreamin since he can't get it.
How did we get him again? I do keep forgetting that. Probably because I don't want him on a rebuilding team so I may be forgetting about him on purpose. But I don't remember how we aquired him anymore, and I don't feel like going through the past 50 threads to figure it out. Can you refresh my memory?
Ah, ok, this is indeed old news. I guess misleadingly putting it as "finding a loophole" and only mentioning the 3rd year is what prevented me from connecting the two things. Seems like Mark J. Spears doesn't know his CBA, if this is something he had to get from "a [presumably human] source".
He came in the Marcus Camby deal. He's a 3rd year player, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't want him on a rebuilding team. He had a terrible year last year, but a good rookie year. Solid defender and shooter. As of now, I am assuming he should most likely be the backup PG.
