I am considering the entire team - and I believe Harden is the major problem on this team right now - and that the team MIGHT be better overall with Thompson and his shooting and playing off the ball...and his defense than it is with a ball dominant turnover machine in Harden.

    MIGHT.

It is not as clear cut as folks make it out to be, and cherry picking a few stats to make a case one way or the other is not going to sway me.

How is he one of the best offensive players in the league?

    Volume? That's the only argument.

    ORtg- 111. Nothing special.

    TS%- .574. Nothing special.

    Turnovers- 4.6 per game. Terrible.

    FG% and 3P%- Terrible.

Passing it to gaurded players with the shot clock expiring- Terrible.

Klay Thompson is very butt hurt Curry is stealing all his shine. Will he even make the all star team this year? Splash brothers is a dead term this season

I would be shocked if he resigns.. He's very weak minded and would love to be the #1 option on another team

For him to grow into the best player he can be, he probably needs to leave GS, and take on his own team, much like Harden left OKC.

Win another championship, and go be the main man. Some players are satisfied with being Robin their entire careers = though that may be all they will be ala Pippen.

I generally don't like a player claiming himself to be "the best" of whatever. Do it with your game and let others judge you. No need to beat your chest to show that you are the alpha male.

I do see a lot of hypocrisy here.

How perfect would Klay be playing alongside Harden though??? That's like the perfect duo right there. Add Draymond Green you got yourself a contender.

For people who don't know what to look for, sure.

Comparing Harden to Thompson this year.

Harden has a lot more minutes played, per game inflating his PER, and other per game stats significantly. But the stats that matter offensively are weaker.

Thompson has a higher TS%, Higher 3pAR, and is much more effecient overall, without nearly as high a usage rate, which means other on the team get to touch the ball too, and be engaged.

Then when you include defense - it is laughable, Harden's defense is terrible compared to Thompson, both individually, and as part of a team.

In a era where the 3 has the best players followed closely by the PG position, saying you are the best SG is like saying you are the best player in the league outside the top 10 players.

He fails to realise he is playing on a team stacked with tier 2 talent with him being a tier 2 player himself. Stacking a team with so much tier 2 level talent is probably harder than getting yourself 1-2 tier 1 players and most likely only possible with great organisations.

Lol at the butthurt people in this thread. Just because you disagree with his opinion doesn't mean he's an idiot. I'm not a Warriors fan by any means, but I wouldn't expect any less from a player instead of the usual "oh you know Harden is the best SG right now".

I don't think he can ever be that kind of number one option. He has never shown the ability to consistently create his own shot or shots for others. Curry and Draymond Green with a little Iggy, Livingston and the occasional Bogut elbow pass are the offensive motors to the Warriors.

Even during his OKC days, a lot of people could see Harden could create his own shots and for others. People were saying that Harden was playmaker for WB and KD.

As good as Klay is with shooting, coming off screens and defending, the ability to create especially in the toughest of moments is what separates the great players from the true superstars. I don't think he has it in him to do that, especially on his own.

Dude literally won player's MVP last season and now you might trade him for Thompson.

Harden has faults and is a mediocre leader, but with the right coach who holds him accountable can absolutely be the #1 option on a championship team.

Thompson is the #3 guy on the Warriors.

Your ignorance is actually frightening. PER cannot be inflated by minutes played. It is a per minute stat.

And TS% and usage rate aren't positively correlated. Are you actually that dense? The higher your usage, the lower your TS%. It's much harder to stay efficient the more offensive responsibility you have. Klay has a higher TS% than Lebron James, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.

DD seriously what's with the Harden hate? It's apples and oranges, Thompson has the superior team and plays with the best player in the league. He isn't the focal point of opposing defenses. I'll give you that Klay is a better defender but as far as what they contribute to their teams it isn't even close.

Harden has no problems with Klay defending him. Iguodala gives Harden problems though.

Thompson was getting lit up by Harden last year before Kerr wisely made the choice to focus the entire team D on Harden, which is what most teams do.

Thompson is a great shooter and a solid secondary scoring option. He's certainly better than Harden on D, but he's by no means great. If he is your best player, you are a lottery team. The Harden hate has gotten out of control, although some of its certainly warrented.

Both green and curry are tier 1 players. Outside of harden they'd be easily the second best player on our team. You don't go 30-1 or whatever without studs.
