This was pretty much inevitable. Although I think the NBA will miss Sacramento and its once great home court, it is nice to put Seattle back onto the NBA map.
Damnit is this for real? Why couldn't they of moved the Bobcats? Man...it just sucks to see a team ripped out of a city like that, but I suppose it's for the best.
"The deal will sell the Kings for approximately $500 million, with the Seattle group seeking relocation to Key Arena for the 2013-'14 season."
No matter how you feel about the team changing cities, it's the change of ownership that matters. Now we might finally see a Kings team w/ competent ownership and management that doesn't actively suck.
Have a feeling Charlotte and/or New Orleans will be looking to move in the next 5 years...Never understood how or why Milwaukee had a team when cities like San Diego, Austin, Pittsburgh don't.
[rQUOTEr]The Maloofs are finalizing an agreement to sell the Sacramento Kings to the Hansen-Ballmer led Seattle group, sources tell Yahoo! Sports. The deal will sell the Kings for approximately $500 million, with the Seattle group seeking relocation to Key Arena for the 2013-'14 season. The Seattle group's plans, with support of the NBA, is to play two seasons in Key Arena before moving into a new Seattle arena, sources say. No agreement signed, but one source describes deal as "1st and goal at 1." Maloofs history of changing course late still makes many uneasy. The Maloofs are expected to keep an extremely small percentage of team, but will have no real input or say in franchise, sources say.[/rQUOTEr]
