Ken Berger @KBergCBS Rockets coach Kevin McHale's leave of absence is to be with his ill daughter, league sources say. Obviously, thoughts are with the family.
easy there, he is just speaking as a rocket fan and his best interested is the team, not random ppl the rockets hired
If Rudy walked away voluntarily, how do you explain that he kept getting paid big bucks as a special "scout and adviser"? Do you honestly believe the Lakers would keep paying a scout that much money? You really have no idea how PR works in sports. I'm done now. You can spit. http://arizonasports.com/60/1587581/John-Gambadoro
No reason to post this. Just lay off man. Call for McHale's head some other time. There is absolutely no reason to joke about this.
Man, you guys are dicks. I'm guessing he has a sick relative and all you can do is salivate over possibly firing him? Wow.
In the words of Rick Ross... SHAMELESS! Truthfully I wish we could have a new coach but I wish his daughter well.
Are you really saying that coaching an NBA team--coaching practices, reviewing tape, managing personnel and setting lineups--is exactly as rigorous and demanding of a man's time as staying on as a part time consultant while the bulk of your time is spent instead undergoing serious medical treatments for something that will kill you if you don't? I guess the only thing that would have satisfied someone as clearly so insightful as yourself is if Rudy T were now dead from cancer instead of making a partial recovery, or if he had stayed so unhealthy and infirm after that he could no longer participate in basketball in any capacity. I'm so sorry you didn't get your wish. Do go on about how Rudy Tomjanovich "didn't really have cancer" though. Please enlighten me further. We'll get to the bottom of this conspiracy.
First of all, I pray for him and his family that all turns out for the best. Second, I still want him fired and gone. He is a really bad coach. It's not personal, it's just we need a much better coach and some are out there available right now. SVG comes to mind but there are others. (Not Mike Brown, please)
By the way, Raven, the whole point of mentioning Tomjanovich was just as an example so that you and other posters would just accept that "Yeah, sometimes people or their loved ones just get sick." Not for you to then tell me how Rudy T was a bad coach and didn't really have cancer. That part is...amazing to me. I frankly never thought the conversation would take that turn, but here we are now. What the...I don't even know what I'm reading on this board any longer.
Best wishes to his family! Hope to see something different, in particular offense during his absence.
graceful exit? if the Rockets want to fire him they fire him just how every other coach in the league gets fired. That is not what this is.
