But people coach through health problems. Rudy was going to be fired. The "stepping down" was a face saving excuse. Anyone who doesn't understand that is deluded.
Hope everything is okay in McHale's family but I too have been unimpressed with his coaching thus far with our roster. Maybe he would be a better assistant - I don't know but I feel like they may have to cut ties with McHale before the season's out.
They have enough talent to hang up a W on almost every team in the league. A win less team like that is still dangerous.
He's been coaching the Rockets longer than 12 months which qualifies him for the "leave of absence" Hopefully they aren't just saying this because they didn't want to "fire" him... Having people sending out prayers etc imo is the wrong way to handle it.
Rudy went 24-19, including winning 3 of their last 4, on a team that had Chris Mihm as its starting center. Then he was diagnosed with cancer and had to retire from coaching to seek treatment. After Rudy T retired, that same Lakers team went 10-29 to finish out the season. I'm pretty sure at this point that you have no idea what you're talking about. It's incredible that you would pair such ignorance of what happened on the Lakers just 8 years ago with such disrespect for one of the most beloved figures in the Rockets organization.
ugh why sampson, dude is the guy that was smiling from ear to ear when he was describing the evils of democratic basketball now that we have harden. I can see iso in full effect more than the previous 3 games. We need the finch man badly.
Best wishes to him and his family. No matter how much you despise him as a coach, there is no need for some of these posts in this thread.
Never done this before but.. tweet from @KBergCBS: Rockets coach Kevin McHale's leave of absence is to be with his ill daughter, league sources say.
