not sure this can be measured statistically, but Kevin Love has a reputation as one of the best outlet passers in the league, which fits perfectly with our play style combined with elite rebounding and an ability to stretch the floor for our slashers... Lin/Harden/Parsons/Love/Asik is my dream team but Love is undercontract for two more seasons after this one, and I don't see how we get him before that
Career loser is harsh. Kahn's failure to put a legitimate team around him shouldn't be used to denigrate Love. Moreover, the streak of bad injuries on the team (and to himself) can't be held against him either. And whatever you want to say about K.Love's defense, it's at least adequate. While this team patiently waits for DMo to develop into a star, Morey needs to nab K.Love.

I said "non of the above". Right now, he isn't the missing piece to make us a contender, especially if we have to send out Parsons &/or Asik to get him. However, the earliest we could get him would be this off season & probably not til next year's trade deadline. By then, our roster'll probably be changed. Maybe DH, CP3 or Pau. Then he might be the missing piece. But those that said "career loser" either stayed up too late or got up too early!:grin:
All these idiots saying Kevin Love is not a superstar are the same fools who probably think giving up PPat for Robinson was the worst mistake ever. Lately, the GARM is just full of noobs.

Parsons/Asik/Love with Harden/Lin This would be an awesome team Love has so many positives and his game is only going to get better.
I would love for Love to be on this team, but as some people have astutely mentioned...Love will cost us Asik and Parson at least perhaps DMo or TJones and picks... Why would Minnesota do it: 1. They wouldnt have to open the bank for Pekovic and let him walk while getting someone just as efficient in Asik 2. They would get a rising star in Chandler Parsons who would be an excellent fit in Adelman's system at the SF position. Combine that with Derrick Williams and Ricky Rubio, and that would be a fairly good team. Add a player like Kevin Martin at the 2 and a lineup of: Asik, Derrick Williams, Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin, and Ricky Rubio would actually be a very good team. Why would the Rockets do it: 1. While it may be really painful to let go of Asik and Parsons, in order to get a player of Love's caliber, they have to give up something to get something back. 2. By adding Love via FA, they can solely set their eyes on Josh Smith this offseason. A combo with Josh Smith and Kevin Love would be a really good mix. 3. There would be a glaring hole in the center position, but that can be addressed via FA or draft. 4. A Lineup of Harden, Love, Smith, "Fill in Defensive Center", and Lin might be a title contending team...The numbers are still vague, but I would like a lineup somewhere along these lines in the future. All that being said, Asik and Parsons have grown on so many of the Rockets fans, and I would like them to remain Rockets for a while...But knowing Morey's MO...he isnt looking to just squeak into the playoffs anymore, he wants to win and win big. And trading Asik and Parsons may be the only way.
Is Klove's defense worse than the PF's we have now? At worst its a wash. He is a HUGE upgrade at rebounding, and scoring, which are things we need most from our PF's on offense.
In 5 seasons Love has been the full time starter and healthy for only two years. So I wouldn't put all the blame for the Timberwolves poor performance on Love. I would love for the Rockets to acquire this guy, but I don't see it happening without giving up Chandler Parsons. I would give up Parsons for Love straight up, but I think the Timberwolves would want more than that, and I don't know if I could go for that. If D-Mo or TRob would emerge as a player with huge potential, then that might help us trade for Love without giving up Parsons. Maybe D-Mo or TRob, Lin, and draft picks with another team involved might get us Love, but D-Mo or TRob would have take a big step up before this would be attractive to the Timberwolves.
Love's only problem is his health. Nothing hurts a team more than 15 million dollars on the bench. Availablility is never overrated, but injured stars often are. Russell Westbrook is a perfect example. People on this forum think he is some third rate chucker but in reality his consistancy is his biggest strength. With a guy like that you get all 15 million not 45 games for 15 million, big difference. Don't get me wrong I like Kevin Love's game but do I think the number of games played will be worth his contract? No.
I am surprised that no one mentioned this til this post. Lots of confirmation bias in GARM. They said D12 is injury prone, but actually he is one of the healthier players in the last decade, only missed about 21 regular season games in 9 seasons. Love, on the other hand, is injury prone. He missed more than 20% of games due to injury.
wow this is dumbest thing ever. for the Rockets offense to thrive, we need to be able to space out the floor, because Harden and Lin are at their best when they're attacking. They can't attack if there are more then 2 people in or around the paint. Asik is the only one who can be near the rim when our backcourt is attacking. Dwight is supposed to be the best big man in the league, ok. He scores more than Dwight, rebounds more than Dwight, Shoots better (a hell of a lot better) than Dwight. Offensively speaking, Love dwarfs Dwight. As for defense, Love can be a good defender in the league, due to his awareness and extremely high basketball IQ. Love is a better defender than any big man on our roster, with the obvious exception of Asik, so we would still be upgrading. All in all, we need a legitimate Power Forward, and we need a second superstar. Get Kevin Love and knock two birds out with one stone. And for the recond, Kevin Love > Josh Smith
How has the fact that this kid never in his whole life had anything that resembled a losing season until he got in to the NBA? His team in high school won a state title and was there 3 years. He got his UCLA squad to the Final Four. In all of his interviews, he is massively disappointed in the losing seasons that the Wolves have had and he has explicitely said that just making the playoffs is not enough for him in his career - he wants to compete year-in and year-out for the championship, and he is willing to change cities to do that. Career loser? Yup, that's David Kahn. Stuck in the middle? Yup, that's K-Love.
