    Should've picked Marcus Peters instead.

He has all of the instincts and technical technique that are not easy to teach. His footwork was listed as the best in the draft among corners. If the rumors about taking Melvin Gordon were true, I am happier today with Kevin Johnson. The training staff can work on making him more physical without sacrificing his athleticism.

Not my 1st choice, but the nicest thing I read was some big name who said that if he had played in the SEC he would easily have been a top 10 pick.

Trae Waynes obviously got run as the best corner entering draft season, but I think I suddenly started to read more good things about Johnson than any other corner. Every other top corner was suddenly getting picked apart some.

In fact, Kevin Johnson was getting as much new praise as anybody I'vve been reading about.

I'm kind of surprised he was the pick, but this morning I would have described him as one of the safest guys in the 2nd half of the first round. No glaring holes, and perhaps the best pure man-to-man cover corner in the draft.

In short, I'm shocked, but pleasantly so.

I don't think there's any chance that we as fans end up viewing him as a mistake, the way we all did with Jackson for the first couple of years.

I know a bunch of people wanted Bud Dupree, but I think there's some boom or bust potential there. There are a ton of guys at this point in the draft that look really good at the combine and in practice that weren't that productive in college. KJ isn't one of those.

See, I think of the Hakeem block whenever I hear that name. I guess that makes me a "glass half full" type of guy.

I need a 3rd option because I don't really know how I feel about it. It's like getting a super awesome bag of socks for Christmas when you actually need socks. It's a great gift, but you still kind of wanted that Playstation or whatever flashy toy was out there.

If he gets to 70% of his pre-draft hype he will be a perennial all-pro.

Don't know enough about KJ to say much except drafting a CB first round is a surprise.

I just hope everything works out.

Dane Brugler and Will Brinson at CBS as well as Bucky Brooks both had him mocked to us. Peter King had him going to us in an earlier mock as well. Earlier in the process, a lot of mocks had us taking Trae Waynes before he started rising. So I'm not shocked at us going CB.

I'll be honest. I don't know much about the guy except a lot of mock drafts had him in the 2nd round but I don't want to say something negative because I know one of you will bring this thread up if he ends up being the next Revis.

Well, I feel even better about this pick now considering the Colts just took Dorsett.
