Durant is too much like early career Dirk in the playoffs - he got his points but it was well known he could be jammed up and thrown off his game by tough, aggressive defenders.

Lebron has obviously not been a perfect performer in a couple finals but overall hes still far more proven and effective in big games than Durant.

Durant can get away with saying this whereas someone like Dion Waiters can't.

So did Harden, so did Lebron. Which is the right attitude to have when your a top 5 or 3 player in the world, confidence is a big part of the mental side of basketball.

This is the attitude that superstars SHOULD have.

I don't think he saw Dream at the Africa game. Dream it's the best player in the world still.

IMO He is, people forget just how good he was in the 2013 - 2015 season. They will be reminded soon.

If I was Durant I would say the same thing. He is wrong of course, right now Lebron still is the king but he should say it and believe it. So should JHarden for that matter.

Lebron should average about 22 pts a game next year.

Coming off a injury plagued season he would really need to show up next season for this comment to really carry any weight.

I'll credit him this, at 100% health he is certainly the most potent SCORER in the league. But all around game? Still LBJ IMO.

What else was he going to say? Could you imagine the backlash if he said he wasn't or if LeBron, Harden, Curry etc were better than him. Never gonna happen.
I bet many others if asked would say they're the best. In Durant's case, he is and if he's not, he's not far off.

A reasonable party could argue that he is. I've always been a fan of durant, but even I was surprised by how great he was in his mvp season. If he comes back strong, watch out.
