He seems like a pretty sensitive guy.

You guys are reading too much into this.

If you asked Dwight Howard tomorrow whether he was planning to re-sign with Houston when this contract is up he'd probably laugh and say something similar. "Man that's a long time away. I'm here for now and we are trying to win a championship."

Or maybe he would say, " of course I am, Kevin Durant is coming!"

He didn't rule out leaving. That's about an honest of an answer as you can get.

You all are ridiculous. It was the most mature possible response to speculation about a free agency in freaking 2016. He's under contract to play for Oklahoma City until then. Let the GM worry about 3 years from now, let's deal in the present as fans.

Does anyone believe these types of statements? It's way ridiculous.

When under pressure, watching rivals win, knowing your career won't last forever, not being happy, etc. all come together, there is no such thing as loyalty. Pick the most loyal person in NBA history, put him on a losing team today, and he will leave if a better opportunity came up.

Losing while being a top 5 player in the NBA is not fun. You're compared to others non-stop. You'll see it on twitter, instagram, facebook, yahoo, espn - basically 24/7. Right now KD still gets the "younger, sweet" guy pass. In three years? People will say his time is coming to an end (although he'd probably be 28 only). Young players and new teams rise very fast.

Don't torture yourselves, guys, spending the next few years dreaming about a superstar instead of enjoying the show which is the 2013-14 Houston Rockets. Our guys are pretty good too. Don't sell them out so soon. Give them a chance.

Here is my take on this, what if Durant signs an extension and then watches Westbrook leave one year later? He'd be screwed. So to protect himself, he leaves, probably for LA, because he knows that he has a better chance of recruiting for the Lakers than with the Thunder. Then one year later, Westbrook has no choice but to bail, probably to the Knicks or Nets.

So trading Harden might be the tipping point where everything fell apart for OKC. Of course, if the Thunder win a championship before Durant becomes a FA, everything changes. Maybe.

The nba has seems to have some sort of generic answer book for players, they all say exactly the same thing just in slightly different words.
