No kidding. Can you imagine KD wearing a cast for that? Ouch! Bad break (no pun intended) for OKC. Hate to see any player have a serious injury, particularly one of the truly good guys of the league, besides being at least a top 5 player, arguably the second best player on the planet. While it is extremely unlikely, KD in a Rockets jersey is a dream most of us share. We'll just have to keep dreaming, while the Thunder dream of simply getting him back on the court, the lucky devils (although they may not feel lucky at the moment).
Hope he can make it back 100%. It's kind of a worrisome fracture. From what I was reading only 75% of Jones fractures heal properly. Hopefully it's just a mild fracture that heals quickly.
The pelicans are in the west..lol their in our division. Best division in the nba by far.. In my opinion the thunder should be in our division

Haha typo on my part. Meant to say west. Yeah this year's southwest division will be nuts. Every team might get up to 45+ wins.
Man, I hope the same thing that happened to Yao doesn't happen. He has the ability to be a top-5 player of all time.
The big difference between the two is weight. Yao was a big man with a history of foot injuries, KD is light weight and this is the first real instance of it. People should be more worried about how he keeps up his conditioning while injured. The Thunder also can't rush him to come back, it'll be intriguing to see what they do if they start the season with a losing record. Do they rush Durant back? Do they bide their time? I'm not sure.
Hasn't Durant been putting on some muscle over the last few years? He is still slim but I wonder if his foot bones have trouble handling even a modest weight increase. With the NBA schedule, it just seems that while you don't want guys to be emaciated in an unhealthy way, a little less weight is better than a little more with a reasonable range.
Seriously sucks and hope it doesn't turn into something serious. Upside for Thunder fans is maybe this will drive home to the mgmt and players how incompetent Scotty Brooks is.
I agree that we don't have to worry about him to the same degree as we would about a truly giant player. Still, I would probably prefer even him to be moderately slimmer rather than moderately more muscular. Even Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant, two pretty slim players, decided to lose weight to keep themselves healthy over the 82 game season. We'll see about Kobe but it has worked for Duncan. This isn't just about bone fractures, but also about the strain on the ankle and knee tendons/ligaments.
