It wouldn't be possible to make a "conclusive determination" as to perjury based on witness statements, all that could be done is uncover some conflicting statements which would be good for propaganda purposes.

Also, this isn't a criminal investigation, so your comparison to murder and theft doesn't really work. This is a supplemental investigation as part of a background check where they are specifically looking into allegations that he sexually assaulted Dr. Ford.....nothing else is being looked into. I know some would want an open ended investigation that would look for any possible dirt that could help Democrats make a case against Kavanaugh, but that's not what is happening.

It's not surprising that the goal posts are being moved, I just thought you guys would wait a little bit before doing it.

 

She's a close personal friend of Dr. Ford's, she really doesn't want to say anything that harms her case, but she's not willing to lie under oath for her. When Dr. Ford says that she was at a party with this female friend and Kavanaugh and the friend says that she was never at a party with Kavanaugh at any point ever and in fact never even met him, it directly refutes Dr. Ford's story but since she is a close friend of hers she feels bad about it and wants to help spin it. Hell she even felt the need to apologize to Dr. Ford for telling the truth in her statement after she made it.

It was a statement relayed by her lawyers on her behalf as an excuse to not come testify on Monday. It was a blatant lie in order to manipulate the process and delay things as long as possible.....but is she not to be held accountable for lies used to manipulate the process? Hell when the message that she can't fly was sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee, she was in Deleware at the time, she had recently flown there and before her hearing she flew back to California then flew to DC. The flying BS was merely a cynical attempt at manipulation and when people are willing to lie to manipulate others it puts their motivations into question.

If her lawyers did this on their own without any input from Dr. Ford, they should be disbarred, if they did it with Dr. Ford's knowledge it shows that she was involved with lying about the fear of flying being a problem AND her lying about never getting the message that they were willing to go to California to talk to her there.....which we now know they couldn't do because she wasn't in California at the time, but they didn't want to admit to that.

 

Judge was never asked to testify....so it's not really an apples to apples comparison now is it?

 

What she does with her money is up to her but that doesn't change the fact that she got a book deal worth millions.

 

I don’t know, but if there are in proposterous accusations at this point, it is most likely going to be from the Republicans in an effort to discredit the credible allegations that have already come out.

 

The Republicans wouldn't allow Judge to be asked. They ruled it out.
