Not sure if this is the right forum. Pretty interesting hire and a good move for sampson since OU is in trouble with the NCAA. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2387372
The day I inconvenienced Kelvin Sampson by being the first one to ask for his autograph at the Superdome goes down as one of my greater moments.
Why is Oklahoma under investigation? NM, read it in the article. How did Oklahoma have a 3rd place finish in the torunament? Do they have a 3rd place game?
I'm currently living in Oklahoma City, and most Sooner fans I know, could care less he's leaving. They've been complaining about him for a while. They think his brand of basketball is boring.
Do sooner fans like basketball period? I get the feeling they wouldn't be depressed if Sampson never brought their program to the level it is at.
I sure hope the guy catches on with the fan base. If he recruits well, beats Purdue & Kentucky and has some success in March, he'll win them over. Wish him well.
The guy is good but he seems to whine a lot on the bench. Or maybe it just looks that way, I don't know.
He plays Van Gundy style basketball. Slow as hell, defensive-oriented, offensive-stagnation, and just plain boring.
As much as I despise OU, I think Sampson is a good coach and I think he'll do well at Indy. Now if he'll do something about those denim shirts...
Actually they have had a pretty good program for a while and maybe they just want a guy to take them to another level.
