I don't disagree with you for not disagreeing with someone else about not disagreeing with the other person who disagreed with the hilarious poster. Wait...What?
Tyler Ennis is garbage, he should be cut. The only time he does anything good is when his defender falls asleep, and even then he barely gets past them and smokes the layup. He's not an NBA athlete.
Wasn't Steve Novak like 6'10"? He's been cast away a few times. Can he play ANY defense? I couldn't watch today's game and only saw him for a few minutes in another game. I don't watch ANY college ball, so I know nothing about this kid other than he can shoot.
From the limited minutes i've seen of Wiltjer, I can already tell he's a better player than Novak, He's got better footwork and can play close to the basket, whereas Novak only ever camped out on the 3 pt line. Wiltjer is a more versatile player than Novak.
Wiltjer is just a very fundamental player. One that fits a MDA team very well at that, especially with a harden. He won't wow you with any athleticism or flashiness. Nor will he just over power guys but besides the obvious shooting ability, he plays well w/o the ball. he sets solid picks/screens for the wings. Good understanding of floor balance and when to shoot/not. Decent touch around the basket where he's an actual capable finisher, so he's not just floating out at the 3 pt line. He's also developing an improved ability to take adv of his size when a smaller player has been on him. Staying all 4 years was a good decision for his development. In Novak's case, other players are the one setting screens for him to get open and he is not a factor inside the 3 pt line. He's not nearly as versatile as Wiltjer
Eleven Definite Keepers, IMHO: Harden Prigioni Gordon KJ Ariza Dekker Anderson Wiltjer Nene Capela Harrell Trade-bait or Expendable, IMHO: DMo, Bev, Brewer, Brown, Ennis, Hairston, GPII, Taylor, Onuaku.
Is he slow? He only played a few minutes in the game I saw him. Could have just been that the game was out of reach and we weren't attempting to score much, but he just didn't look very quick to me. Is that true?
I wouldn't say he's the fastest person haha but to me he plays at a good pace. I don't want to call him slow because his game really doesn't rely on actual high speed or quickness.
Keepers James Harden Eric Gordon Ryan Anderson Nene Hilario Trevor Ariza Clint Capela Sam Dekker KJ McDaniels Montrezl Harrell Kyle Wiltjer Pablo Prigioni Trade Patrick Beverley Corey Brewer Tyler Ennis Chinanu Onuaku Cut Isaiah Taylor Gary Payton II Bobby Brown PJ Hairston
I'm ambivalent about Bev. He's our best D option to put on opposing PG's Also shot 40% from 3 last year if I recall correctly. People write his shooting off. But shot at a decent clip
Tyson Chandler could be a soon... really need to make moves to open up a roster spot for Wiltjer and that can come with a TC trade down in Phoenix. A sign and trade for DMo, Brew, and Chinanu will get it done. If anyone thinks I'm reaching think again, I forgot who said it on here once, I wan't say it was Codman, that TC could be a soon. If that's the case a roster of C that include Capela, NENE, and Tyson would make me feel a lot better. C- Capela/ NENE/ T.Chandler F- RYno/Harrell/Wiltjer F- Ariza/ KJ/ Dekker G- Bev/Gordon/GP2 G- Harden/Pablo/Ennis Of course MDA's rotation would only include about 9 guys but in can see this coming
Chandler definitely a possibility. Capela as starter in that case......nope. Capela as starter over Nene either Durant happen at all or is a very short lived experiment.
I really have a hard time thinking about who is going to be cut at this point... Capela/Nene/Nanu Anderson/D.Mo(?)/Harrell Ariza/Dekker/Brewer Harden/Gordon/KJ Beverely/Prigioni I really see just one spot available here, i thought that Prigioni may be gone tbh, but i don't know, he's just a perfect player for MDA...and he's probably also a very valuable person in the lockeroom so...probably only one between Wiltjer and GPII will be on the roster (assuming D.Mo will be here of course), and that's not great imo, i'd like to keep them both...
