Keep Calm and Remember Why Your A Rockets Fan

Positivity!!! That moment when you realize the Rockets are 5-8 but only a game and a half out the 8th seed and only 4 and half games out of 2nd seed where they were last year with 69 games left. Logically the season isn't over.

 

It is not that we aren't positive, I am just pissed at the ****ty effort they bring. I was pissed off when McGrady pulled that **** and I am pissed off now that the team is pulling that ****. We are a talented team. I can handle losing close games where we give all the effort in the world, I just can't handle the way this team constantly let's the other team get up 20. They don't give themselves a chance to win at all.

 

We weren't going to win with Mchale I know that. This transformation has to happen it just sucks how it's happening. Rockets will be ok. At this point they are in their training camp early season. They are just now figuring things out for themselves as a team. Good times will be back this year it's coming. They just need more practices, scheme changes on offense and defense plus some chemistry time amongst the players. I'm betting they will be 9-8 come Nov 30th.

 

Do you honestly believe that after yesterday's game and the Portland game that they really are figuring things out? I saw about maybe 4-5 minutes tops where there was a full team effort, but after that the effort was sporadic.

Hopefully KJ gets it together because he was one positive for me despite some turnovers on the offensive end. His defense was excellent and he was not falling asleep or gambling like Brewer usually does.

Morey needs to try his best to find us at least one shooter off the bench. I think when Dmo comes back he should hopefully make a difference.

 

It's a process. They didn't have a training camp or take preseason seriously. I do see things getting a tad bit better effort wise. Defense has improved. More improvement is needed of course but they totally quit on Mchale. Positive thing is there is a game tonight and we will see what happens there. After that they get 3 needed days off and they play Memphis again but at Toyota center. See how they perform then... after that we can revisit the topic on if they are improving under JB. I believe in DMo. I also believe in a few shooters on this team but those guys need the leaders to be consistent in setting the tone on both sides of the floor and in practice. Just gotta get back to being hungry and believing. I believe the guys lost that under Mchale after the GS series.

Sorry, correcting your grammar is more interesting than following this team. On the plus side, I'm a more productive member of society.

 

I agree this storm will pass...but it will last much longer than anyone here realizes...or will admit.


The year we made the WCF...with 2 starters out, mounting one of the all time great come backs in NBA playoff history, adding key pieces seamlessly during the season, and most importantly playing with a team chemistry that was really fun to watch.

That will be a year to remember....and long after names like JB are long forgotten from Rockets lore.

Also to never be forgotten are the "fans" who vilified the coach of that team calling continuously for his firing...all the way to the WCF.

 

These type of threads are like closing your eyes when bad stuff is happening right in front of you, and pretending you're riding your unicorn over the rainbow.

 

If Rockets are 9-8 on November 30th that would mean...

JB 5-1


What would be the talk then? Seasons still early?

 

This thread will be brought back to the forefront later this season in a positive way. I could see if it was already January but it's early. We have the talent to turn it around and these guys are not going out like this. Just watch... but rep me when it happens.

I am a fan who is taking a break from watching the team. Will watch again once the team is enjoyable to watch again.

 

Yes all you really need is a solid win steak and it's a very long season, but never giving up and being positive can still go together with being frustrated at certain aspects like forcing the Morey system.

 

Reminds me of the importance of Josh Smith on last year's team. He's in nearly half of the "Deliver Me" highlights. And he's besties with Dwight. Ain't getting Josh back, so how do we replace him?

Thanks for the reminder op, other than hakeem and maybe making WCFs last year... Not a lot to be excited about in 20 years. I mean that game 4 LAL starts out w/ yao basically being done career-wise (and that was the one Gd time the team got him anywhere), obviously if he was healthy houston had a chance to advance, but "next year" and "should've/could've/would've" don't mean much.

At least I can re-watch that Clutch City special, lol.

It hard to root for a team that is playing without any heart. This team seems like the polar opposite of the teams of the last few seasons.

 

Probably the best option, I'll probably do the same soon, it's a waste of time when even the owner even admits the team is **** atm.
