He can if he wins. If Jabbar left in free agency instead of a trade(Bucks probabaly knew they were likely lose him for nothing), then he went on a won a bunch of rings. who the heck cares about him leaving a team drafted him after its all said and done?
History will remeber him by # of rings. All those happened before he wins will be trivial in 5 years. Same goes for Lebron. If he didnt leave for Miami and join force with Wade and Bosh, and only win 1 title so far. His career would just be a huge disappointment. No chance to be challenging Jorden for GOAT.
Even Lebron didnt win anything until his second season with 2 all stars. We shouldnt pretend Rockets has enough talent already, Harden does not need 1 or 2 running mates to win something while he is still in his prime.
Vs the hundreds of millions he's lost in shoe sales and other endorsements because Durant has sucked all his mojo away. It must bothering him at least somewhat.
He already signed the $200 million plus contract with UA just like Harden signed with $200 million contract. He's not losing a dime on his shoe contract because it's already signed.
Not sure if you knew: Jabber won a ring with the Bucks and Oscar Robertson in like his 2nd year. He never won again as the team's #1 player .... Took him like 8 yrs or so to win another one, and probably wouldn't have had LA not got that #1 pick for Magic that revived his career. Never forget the Airplane scene with Joey when Jabber gets defensive about his rep for being soft and not able to win.
You missed my point. I was saying if he went on and win a lot of rings, thats how he would be judged historically. nobody (other than bitter fans of his former team) would even care about his decisions early on.
