    The power of the media. Kawhi will catch zero slander for this, unlike other stars.

    Also makes me very curious what terms he actually DID accept. Clearly there is more than just a simple contract. If they asked for ALL THAT, then they had to have gotten *something* outside of the rules out of it, I’d imagine.

    But again...Kawhi is “likeable”, so the media will downplay this for jokes and that’ll be that.

    You know this is horseshit. James Harden is a totally hated individual just because he likes going to strip clubs and a video from 2014 or 2015 of highlighted defensive lapses.

    That's all they have on James, yet they tear him apart. Lol.

    I think that this was just a "negotiating" tactic.
    Uncle Dennis played everyone including the Clippers.
    Stalled for time asking for the moon and the stars that he knew he wouldnt get, pressuring the Clippers in the meantime to close the deal for George.

    Probably fake news leaked by LeBron's camp and the Lakers, but if taken seriously... Kawhi would have only gone to the Lakers if allowed to usurp LeBron's throne. These demands, even if half met, would have given Kawhi the top position on the Lakers. Actually, LeBron might have gotten more to sign there. Who knows.

    Kawhi Leonard Denies Knowledge Of Report On Dennis Robertson Asking For Improper Benefits

    In response to a report from Sam Amick of The Athletic about Dennis Robertson asking teams for improper benefits, Kawhi Leonard tried to evade the topic when asked.

    “I don’t know, I didn’t read it, so I don’t know how reliable it is — I don’t have no knowledge of it. I have no knowledge of it. People make up stories every day,” said Leonard.

    Canada’s Rogers Sportsnet previously reported that Leonard made “unrealistic” requests of the Raptors in free agency.

    According to Amick's reporting, Robertson asked for an ownership stake, access to a private plane and a guarantee on endorsement opportunities.
