I doubt anyone offers Jones much of a contract, the issue is that you have someone you won't want to re-sign who is taking up a roster spot and cap space. Let's not pretend Jones is somebody he's not. He's a guy coming off a postseason where he gave up over 60% at the rim and shot 15% from 3. He's just a player you can't count on because he always seems to come up small when you need him the most
Thomas Robinson got a 2 year 2.2 million dollar contract.....that sounds about right for Jones going forward.
Are you serious? Aaron Baynes got so much money you think Tjones is gonna get scraps? If we didn't have DMO I'd be fine keeping TJones, dude is really good not sure what grudge you have against the guy.
LOL you are ridiculous. He will take at least 10 per, in my estimation. probably around 12-13. Next year the cap rise will come in effect AND there will be another cap rise next year.
Yikes, I feel bad for any team that wastes that much money on a PF that shouldn't even be a backup on a contender.
you can feel as bad as you want but that's doesnt mean that this won't be his market value. it would be nice if you could separate you personale disdain for jones from what his objective perception and value around the league is. Besides luckily for you you won't have to deal with jones for much longer most likely.
That's just silly. Jones didn't play well in the playoffs, but I've seen him have a lot of good games. It was a rough season for Jones, with the paralyzed leg and collapsed lung and all. But I know he's a much better player than Robinson. I don't have a problem with the Rockets trading him, but let's not pretend he doesn't have some talent.
Tjones is a player made for the Eastern conference. He always plays well against teams from the East but he can't hang whatsoever with the West big men.
I think he's right about on par with Thomas Robinson. Robinson is the better defender and rebounder, Jones shoots a bit better and handles the ball better. Both are really guys who get by on physical talent alone. Neither is a very solid option for a contender, even as a bench guy.
Bobbythegreat & Basketballholic meet in a bar .. one brings up t jones and the rest is history #lovewins
I'm fine with people who think Jones is a good player who are constantly surprised when he plays terribly. You guys will learn eventually. When Jones shot 15% in the playoffs and allowed over 60% at the rim, I wasn't surprised. Were you? You shouldn't have been.
