All coaches do the yelling & cursing, even at the middle school level, it's just the good ones know when to yell, and whom to curse at.

JVG knows that Yao will take it, and yelling at Yao will put other players in their place. I just hope JVG knows when to stop when Yao starts getting tired of this, IF he ever will.

    Injuries!!! Injuries!!! Injuries!!!

I am so tired of hearing this lame excuse.....

Phoenix has had injuries AND player turnovers and yet they are not whining or crying... They are adjusting and playing ball.

Every freakin team has injuries... You adjust and you move on..

Remove 2 top players from any team for an extended amount of time and see what those teams do

How is he going to win with all the injuries he's had with the team?

I gotta see you coach this disaster...

Oh, I'm sure Yao will find a better way, after having seen how much hating Spree received for doing what he did to Carlesimo. Even though Carlesimo probably deserved it.

Even without Amare, Phoenix has two allstar players. How many games have they missed to injury this season?

JVG's personally annointed pet players could at least make a few shots, couldn't they?

Hmm, I wonder when you remove Nash, Marion, and with Amare already out. You get the Bobcats, Hawks, or a team from the NBDL.

Seriously, dissing other posters is the best passtime on this BBS. I love how dukes of the BBS pulling YOF crap out of bag without actually addressing the challenge.

It's about being fair. If JVG were even handed, if he yelled at every player in public whenever they made a mistake, that would be fine with me. But he didn't, did he? Practically the whole team stunk it up, including his pet JHo, but he did not scream at them. No, he screamed at the only guy who was producing. Was that fair?

Dude, how do you know who he yelled at the entire game?? Unless you were at the game and a fairly close distance to the Rockets bench, you have no idea. We got a couple of shots during the broadcast but that is hardly the entire games worth.

The crap that people are starting to complain about is just getting silly.

Who does he have to anoint....

Wesley - garbage - hits them once in a while, streaky shooter
Alston - garbage - hits them once in a while
Head - bricks them up, but still a rookie - hits them once in a while
Brunson - help picked up when we lost everyone, penetrator - not shooter
Bogans - look at Brunson, penetrator - hits a shot once in a while

    The rest of the team...

    Hayes - banger, can't shoot
Bowen - great defender, can't shoot
Howard - great post-up, he can shoot, whenever he gets a chance.
Mutumbo - defense minded, can't shoot and will not shoot an outside jumper
Swift - banger underneath, when shooting - I cringe
    Lampe - benchwarmer
Yao - the only proven player on this team
    T-Mac - injured
    Sura - injured
    Barry - injured, then retired

Oh grow a pair already will ya......jeez loueezz

Its not fair, the coach is yelling.....c'mon people get real. Were you in the huddle to hear what he said? How do you know that he wasn't yelling at the whole group and telling them to get the ball to Yao? Yao has stated publicly that he loves JVG as his coach because he demands perfection from his players.

I'll say this.....all you "sensitivity trained" posters need to get real. this post is a microcosm of what has happened to this great nation, we have become a bunch of pansies....where is Patton when you need'em?

We have all seen enough Rockets games (even if only on TV) to have a damn good idea.

Uhhhh... perhaps because he doesn't find it as necessary as he does with Yao? Ever think of that? Yeah... big frickin' mystery.

Well, why would he yell at T-Mac last night? Was he even there?

I'm not sidestepping anything. How do you know JVG never yells at T-Mac? Do you go to practice? How do you know JVG didn't yell at everyone last night? The camera was not focused on the Rockets bench during every single timeout. It just happened to catch him yelling at Yao for a few seconds and now, as always seems to happen in this forum, everyone has totally overblown it and turned that little video-bite into a huge anti-Yao conspiracy.

Do you honestly thing JVG only yells at Yao??

JVG shows Yao nothing but respect off the court. Look at all those glowing things JVG says about the big fella. I think once a player knows that he has his coach's respect, he would be willing to take criticism, even if it comes in the form of yelling.

Why does JVG yell at Yao and not at T-Mac? Well, a good coach knows that different players respond to different coaching. It could be that Yao responds to yelling while T-Mac is the type of player that you can only criticize in private.

It could also be that Yao is a young, developing player, while T-Mac is a proven veteran with less room to improve. Yao is still a piece of clay right now. It is important that JVG shape his development with instant and clear feedback.

The thread starter has overreacted. No question about it.

But what made some of you guys think he is a YOF?

If another poster says he doesn't like JVG yelling at Bogan, do you call him a BOF?

You are weak if you have to label someone to make a point.
