I see nothing wrong with his prediction. I think we're better than the overrated Lakers. We should have blew them out already....they got some lucky break at the end...it's unfortunate...but if Lowry is playing, Blake would have his ass shut out and wouldn't have initiated the 2 three points which ignite a comeback for the Lakers. It was damm Aaaron (no defense) Brooks playing careless free basketball. Not to mention Aaron doing pick and roll with Chuck Hayes and ended up turning over the ball. Aaron is the reason we lost because he started giving the Lakers any hope of coming back.
OK he said that we can matchup pretty well against the lakers, but going to the final, that's a little bit too much.

If I were David Stern, I would want the Rockets at LEAST in the conference finals against LA. What an awesome storyline it would be for the world, the Return of Yao (and perhaps even Yao's Last Stand if you wanna spin it that way), just what the NBA needs to bolster its international economic potential at a time of great uncertainty. Who knows. Anything can happen in an NBA season. If it happens, great!! If it doesn't, then I will be happy with the Celtics or Magic against the Rockets in the finals. Then I will have the last laugh.
Unfortuneately, he had Yao and T-Mac and that was pretty much it. I always felt his teams overachieved.
