I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere else in this thread, but could the Rockets bring Badiane in if Juwon indeed is out for several weeks or more? Just wondering how that sort of thing works. I mean, he can't be worse than Vin Baker can he?

And just to throw the name of someone who (at one time) was a fit for the role we need to fill, I ask the following question:

Does anyone know what happened to Texas center James Thomas? Is he playing in other leagues or overseas, or are his playing days over? Even if he wasn't able to play, I would rather see the world's largest shoulders sitting on the bench over Baker and (to a lesser extent) Weatherspoon.

And how exactly would Badaine help the team at this point. You think he would really all of a sudden step on the court and start playing better than Padgett, Weatherspoon and Baker could?

Considering they won't even let Baker step on the court... yes!

There was no reason to put Baker on the court earlier but they might just do it now. If it was a choice between Badaine and Baker I would give baker the first chance to prove that he can go out there and play.

If Baker was completely worthless I would imagine they would put him on the IL but they put Moochie there instead. Maybe that shows that the Rockets had some intention of playing Baker in certain situations (maybe situations like this one now)

Ack! Bad break for the Rockets, but we have had VERY few injuries this year (well, Suras have been pretty much business as usual) and this could serve to further toughen up our team and give the bench a few more opportunities before the playoffs.

If nothing else, if Howard is out an extended time, we will know if Tin Man is prophet or troll ;)

790 reports that JH is gone for 1 month -- 2nd degree MCL sprain.

    (edit: "four weeks minimum")

That would be good news if its infact true because that means that there is no tear or ligament damage..

Did 790 beat 610, the Rockets flagship station? Who had it first?

Yeah, 610 is still replaying the Sura interview where he says that JH "is rumoured" to be out for the season.

He will miss the rest of regular season. Yikes. But if we meet Phoenix or Seattle in the playoff, we wont miss him too much. If we do advance to 2nd round, he should be ready to play by then. So not too bad.

silver lining - this could keep us out of the 5th seed (which I don't want. Doing the Texas 2 step with Dallas and SA wouldn't be fun).

Regular season ends April 20, potentially against our first round opponent, Seattle.

So, if Juwan can make it back on the near end of the scale, he may get 3-4 games to work back into playing shape.

In the meantime, it may be a good chance to see if Vin Baker has anything in him.

Let Vin play. I want to see if he can still do something.
