Im shocked. My brother in law just took me out to dinner and told me he paid the rest of my 6 months on my rent. I live off Washington in a nice apartment (1350/mo) and he freaking went into the office, and paid that **** off. Its not like I cant afford it, but he got a large bonus at work and has done a bunch of nice stuff for our family. What do I do for him now?
Ask him if can take care of those car payments as well. jk. Take him out to dinner. Buy him something nice.
This doesn't sound like a "favor" that should be returned it seems to just make him happy to do for others. I wouldn't necessairly feel obligated. That being said damn what kind of bonus did he get that enabled him to drop over $8,000 on your rent and who knows what on the rest of the family?
lmfaooo can't add much to these  On a serious note, that's awesome and dinner/drinks is probably sufficient. Maybe a Rockets game if he's into that. Sounds like he's got plenty enough money to buy whatever nice things he wants so he probably wouldn't want you spending your money on it.
He already has season tickets behind the basket right by the Rockets bench that he gives me. I guess next time we hit up a game ill pay the 100 dollar beer tab.
Go to a fancy steak house and buy the most expensive steak along with their best wine or scotch if he drinks
Get him a nice watch. Since he paid for the rest of your rent, you'll have a little bit of disposable income now.
It's not what you can do for him but what else he can do for you.. Most likely he did some bad stuff and wants to pay for your forgiveness before he spills the beans..
