If the NBA insists on fan votes why not have the coaches select the 12 man roster and fans put the starting line up together. It's not hard.

Duncan & KD over Boogie is ridiculous.

I don't watch the All Star game because they get it right. It's just entertainment and I want to see it, and hope that (this year) James Harden does well.

It's kind of like the Oscars. They almost never get it right, and often leave the really deserving candidates off the list, but it can be entertaining sometimes.

Doesn't matter how many players you have in the ASG, there'll always be some snubs. I haven't watch the ASG for several years, because with all the national networks & RTSW carrying NBA games, I can watch the "STARS" play meaningfully games all the time.

That's the biggest snub this year BY FAR.

KD and Westbrook are 2 of the 5 best players in the league, it would be a crime to keep them out of the AS game.

KD has missed more games than he played. Boogie deserves that spot.

They should take away east/west and just vote on the 24 players then have ex players "team captains" draft the teams. The game has nothing on the like anyways, no reason to make it east /west.

Only argument for KD (and it's an important one) apart from the fact that his numbers when he has actually played, are deserving of an All-Star selection, is that the fans would want to see him play in the ASG moreso than say Tim Duncan. I also feel KD would want to play in the ASG more than Duncan.

Boogie deserves Duncan's spot not KD's.

How many times to people have to reiterate this is a FAN BASED event. the fans vote these people in. Sadly its a popularity contest more than it is a skilled based set. its ALWAYS been that way. Every year there's a player that deserves to get in, that doens't.

    nothing is new here.

Duncan deserves it in my eyes , he's 38 putting up 14.7 ppg , 10 rpg, 3 apg, with 2 blocks and has played in 13 more games than Kawhi.

Although DMC deserves it over kd , but that's just my opinion

    1. Stop shouting.
    2. You do know the discussion here is mainly about the reserves selections and that's voted for by the coaches not the fans?
    3. You're definitely right on it being a popularity contest...as we can see re.the selections by the coaches.

Isn't the argument more about Duncan getting selected over DMC than it is about Duncan getting selected over Kawhi?

Durant I can understand. He's only played in 21 games. But Westbrook is averaging 25-8-6 and is 4th in the league in PER. Granted he is shooting in the low 40% and less than 30% from 3, but numbers like that have to be in the All-Star game

You do realize fans don't select the reserves, right? This thread is about the coaches' selections.

It should be. And I'm not sure how you justify this.

There were a lot of snubs this year; they could honestly make a really good team out of all the snubs from both sides
