Although, technically I am a bag of gravel, I do feel a certain kinship with a standard box o' rocks. I sincerely appreciate your sensitivity on this issue. It's not just cavemen that get the short end of the stick in pop culture idioms and cliches.

This is BS. I checked out Yao's facebook page and on the second message under the signing of Brad Miller, Yao states that his going back to China to play in some charity event games.

Is this because of insurance policy? I remember last year Les received insurance money because Tmac couldn't play by the end of Nov.

    LATEST PICTURE!

His legs look uneven and he's hiding something around his eyes.

Right? Sheesh! There have been too many of these insane let-downs with Yao's health over the years. Can we at least get a few games in before it's time to melt down again?

Luckily, this report is definitely an outlier. There have been no other indications from anywhere that Yao will miss the start of the season.

Thread-rating saves the day! When I saw 1-star next to the thread title, I knew no heart attack would be necessary.

If Yao really was more injured than we thought, signing Miller would have been bad idea. Instead, Morey should have been spending this time dismantling the roster.

The reporter is legit - Woelfel is actually the guy who said the Rockets were "closing in" on Brad Miller this time last week, which turned out to be accurate. People just need to read the wording closer. He's not saying there's information to make the Rockets think Yao will miss up to the first two months of the season. He's just saying it's an option if Yao is not as healthy as the Rockets hope he will be. Which should be obvious to everyone - of course if Yao isn't healthy, the Rockets won't rush him back.

There's a reason he put it as one of the last items in a "notes" category and not the focus of a story. There's simply no real info there.

I missed this tweet by yao, but it sounds like a message from a yearbook.
Yao should have added. "have a nice summer."

while i wouldnt be surprised to see yao eased into the season slowly, i wouldnt expect him to not play at all for the first couple of months.

Pretty much. I'll defend Woelfel a little, though, because he didn't really play it up as a big deal - he just put it in a notes column at the bottom of a real story. Which normally wouldn't be made into anything substantial, but with the advent of Twitter, Ben Maller made it look like something it wasn't.

In fact, Woelfel didn't even put the "news" on his own Twitter... that should tell you guys how little actual substance there is.
