It's a bit worse than that. When he's shooting bad, he make poor choice, get lost on D, poor passes resulting in TO and continue to force shot... because he's the type of player that knows he depends on get it going and until he hit some, he can't do it.

When he's on, he's amazing. When he's off, he's terrible.

My prediction: TJones back in the starting lineup for game 3 and maybe just maybe just maybe PatBev off the bench since prigioni can't guard the empire state building.

I think he had the right idea to start by being aggressive, but it became clear very early on his shot was not falling, at least to everyone except Josh. He was the only Rocket to truly suck tonight, and it cost us.

Guys Slow down Josh game is mental. He made the mistake of letting the refs calls take him out of an aggressive mindset. Josh's problem is to control himself he loses his edge. He will play better at home. Remeber he did the same thing in the Clippers series. We got these boyz(the warriors) They threw the kitchen sink and then some and the Rockets took thath and spit it right back. Now its our turn RED NATION. We own the games this weekend setting up Game 5. Just think about it once Brew Josh and Terry get some home cooking, we already have been able to quite that crazy Oracle arena crowd down we will have them. The 93/94 Rockets were in worst position being down 0-2 going to Phoenix. Luv these Boyz Rox 4 life

We can talk all the **** about him we want about him and his bad play tonight, but the truth is there's no such thing as a tonight without Smith in the first place. If you live by Smith, you die by Smith.

Yeah he won us game 6 in LA but what if we had a consistent guy at PF would we even be down that bad ?

    1 rebound
    17 shots
    10 points
-9 only rockets starter in negatives

I'd rather not go down 3-1 against the Warriors. :p

But yeah, Smith is the X-factor. We know what Harden and Howard are going to give us. Now, the question is, which Smith will show up? "Clippers game 6" Smith or "Imma jack ill-timed 3s" Smith?

He tried a near half court pass through the GS defense to Terry. I was saying outloud "pass it to Harden....pass it to Harden...whaaat...nooooo...fkn Josh Smith!".

Tonight, we died. He needs to learn to stop forcing it when his shot isn't falling. 17 shot attempts is ridiculous.

Missing threes is okay by me just don't shoot so many of them when they aren't going in. He really needs to play smarter and stop throwing stupid outlet passes. Hopefully Josh and Pablo will be better at home. Both of them came up small tonight.

    understood.

but josh smith only knows one way of playing bball, and that's his own way. aka the way you see.

i think mchale is smart to give him a lot of freedom to play his own style. that's the best way to make the most out of him. otherwise, just look what happened in detroit...

That has been his problem his whole carreer. He is so talented but he is consistently inconsistent and has terrible shot selection. If his shots aren't falling he won't stop shooting. This has been the case forever. Not just in Houston.

Josh Smith: His ceiling is through the roof, his floor is 6 feet under the dirt.

Too much confidence can be bad for you, especially when your offensive skill is lacking. See Josh Smith.

I mentioned in the other thread that by many accounts Smith is a pretty smart, hi bball IQ guy. I've read interviews where he breaks down stuff and talks about his own analysis in game situations and has a very detailed idea about everyone on the court in the moment.

WHICH MAKES WATCHING HIM PLAY MAKE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE.

Someone tell JSmoove that his starting is not permission to pull a Detroit JSmoove. Just play in the offense like you've done before & not try to create as much taking bad shots.
