Like him, just wish he knew his weaknesses with the basketball (turning it over, jumping in air to pass, dribbling into the defender for a charge, and taking too many 3's and not hitting them...
I think the issue with Josh (as far as perceptions go) is that whatever he does seems to happen in a BIG way — both contributions and mistakes. That said, it is beyond me how anyone can not look at the scale being tilted grossly in the positive direction. It seems like almost every Josh three-point shot begins with everyone screamong "NOOOOO," and ends with everyone everyone screaming "YESSSS!" i would hate to be without him right now. So for anyone who is not fond of what Josh currently brings to this team, i would advise you to put on your big boy pajamas and pretend to be a grown-up. 'Cause grown-ups know how to look at things with a sense of proportion. Maybe wearing your big boy jammies will help you feel big enough to understand what that word means.
Josh Smith LOOKS like he can do anything on the court offensively. Like a Lebron-lite, with his ballhandling, vision and array of skills. But its not NEAR the offensive RESULTS his skills and style would imply. It can APPEAR he can dribble drive to rim and do post moves above-average, but the misses on those plays happen above-average. Doesn't have quite the body control, shooting touch, and quick decision-making to get the execution he instinctively feels to do. It can look bad when he tries to be Lebron-like with D-league result. When it DOES come together, its very good. Can't fault him much for his good defense. Altogether it makes for a serviceable good at times exciting player.
We all analyze too much. Go off his whole game performance. Harden takes bad threes, ariza takes bad threes, and the team as a whole takes bad threes. Turnovers as well, but in that Dallas series, hands down 3rd best player on this team.
I fully accepted him for better or worse when he did the cooking celebration in Van Gundy's face. Great moment of the season.
Pretty much standard smith in the first half . More bad josh than good , but going up against Blake is tough . If say he was 60/40 bad josh to good josh .. We need that ratio reversed in the second half especially with how jones is playing . Either way one of our PF's has to step up and at the very least make Blake work a whole lot harder
He is much more controlled tonight. Love him when he is controlled. Way better than TJones in terms of rebounding and making plays.
