that is a collection of some the dumbest statement's i have seen in a while. the funny part is he probably has an extremely low IQ but gets paid millions to play bball, but he sucks at that also. he has the physical tools, and maybe even the desire and drive to do well. only thing is he as dumb as a huge sack of bricks that has been left out in the rain left behind an old rusted barn.
"It can be a very effective airship though. In the right circumstances I'd like to fly on it. Just got to work out that hydrogen-being-flammable thing." -- designer of the Hindenburg
May not be the best, but they aren't franchise-crippling deals like the ones Dumars doled out by the handful. Dumars was an awful GM who got saved by the likes of Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince (and of course an in-prime and focused Rasheed Wallace), and was able to keep his job for about 5 years longer than he should have. While SVG may not be the best GM (time will tell), this season certainly isn't going to be on him.
Probably the same clowns who think Morey is a terrible GM and a Josh Smith type acquisition would have put us over the top if Morey wasn't such a nerd and did not value "flexibility."
You still haven't figured it out, the guy won't change his shot selection. He also will lose his athleticism gradually. Playing with Howard will not make him a better shooter.
Josh probably knows little about the history of his team. One of their players won a championship and defensive player of the year... Spoiler
Josh Smith is hilarious. What did he do the very next day after the Faried comments,,,,, he shot 5 of 16 against the powerful Timberwolves defense. Yeah that shut Faried up real good.
Well, at least Smith looks like a shooting guru so far with KCP on the court. KCP: .25% fg, .2% 3pt, 4 PER.
Have any of you Smith-hating geniuses considered that maybe: (1) Smith really does think Faried is a circus clown, or (2) Smith was talking about Halloween costumes. "That guy's a clown, man."
Some ppl are literally mistaking Josh Smith / JR Smith. Josh Smith is decent but JR is the r****d. Get it straight.
If you told him not to shoot ANY jump shots, only lay ups or free throws, focus primarily on defense, he might be a decent player.
JVG messed up by way overpaying Jodie Meeks and not trading Josh Smith (which should have been his first order of business). Saying Smoove has "just got to work out that shot selection thing" when it's been a career long problem is like saying Aaron Brooks would be much better if he were bigger and taller.
A decent player making near $15m. Who is still bricking free throws. Who is an average rebounder. Turns the ball over more than usual. Doesn't seem to impact his team's performance, neither defensively or offensively. If ten years into a guy's career he still needs drastic changes in his game to be decent, then those changes are probably not happening. We're not the only people who know how Smith can become useful. All the coaches and fans know. More importantly, Smith knows. He knows what he should do to help his team more. He's talked about it before. He just doesn't want to do it. In many ways, he's lucky SVG joined the Pistons. Smith has had all the chances in the world to change. I would be willing to call his career a massive failure. But maybe SVG is the type of coach who can make an impact on the guy late in his career, and when Smith falls on his face as he's done with this Faried thing, maybe that kind of mini-trauma pushes him towards making changes he's never considered before. Highly unlikely, but if you're paying the man $15m, you'd be more optimistic too.
J-Smoove is truly becoming a legend. http://www.deadlinedetroit.com/arti...d_the_craziest_streak_in_the_nba#.VIDNvsmEeAw Since this season started, he have not shot above 50% for ANY of the 19 games he played so far. Will this amazing streak ever end?
