That signing made no sense for Detroit. They were/are a long way from competing so signing a guy like him was useless. Plus they already have a PF. DUMB organization
Would it be crazy to try to get the guy? We would get an elite defender, and (hilariously) a much better 3 point shooter than TJones. We could give up Asik, a pick, and either D-Mo or T-Jones.
Not everybody. Some NBA fans, including many on this board, just want to see change for the sake of change. It's as dumb in sports as it is in politics, or science, or any other field.
If Detroit could get an expiring pick for him without giving up picks to take on that contract, that would be a huge win. Sometimes you have to admit you were wrong to sign him in the first place quickly.
Josh Smith is a defensive genius. The problems is that he thinks he is an offensive genius. He is averaging 3.5 3-pointers per game. Lazy and stupid on offense are not a good combination. I'll take him, if he is not allowed to shoot 3-pointers.
And to think there were Rockets fans that were seriously convinced he was the better fit over Millsap and others. Bullet. Dodged.
this is the guy people here wanted to give future chandler parsons money too. smith's problem is he can't play within a structured offense. he kills democratic ball or any attempts at it.
