I think this is somewhat of a possibility. He's a true 4. He's good defensively when he's beside a legit 5 that can defend. He can shoot the basketball...in my opinion better than Casspi or DMo and most definitely better than Jones.

This shuffling of the deck from Smith to Pittman to now Powell indicates to me a real concern on the Rox that we have another guy to bring in and play some competitive defense to take foul count away from our other bigs and possibly give us some spacing on the offensive end. Everyone here should realize we are going to be facing dual big lineups in the playoffs that far outsize Jones.

He may have known it, but he hasn't shown any sense of urgency in addressing it for this season.

I think they'd be signing a point guard if that were the case.

Morey was trying to trade for a star point guard before the deadline. That was his main focus, and wanted to give up Lin and Asik, our defensive anchor off the bench. Morey was not looking for a PF.

But Powell and Jones are about the same size at 6'-9" (Generously).

DWill was long before the deadline and Rondo was never coming to Houston. Morey wanted another star, he wasn't specifically looking for a PG.

Of course, we traded our insurance PG Brooks to get Hamilton. Rockets need reinforcement in several positions, but forward seems most needed right now.
