Is he fired yet? No no one on Houston sports radio really talks rockets. Its time for off season Texans talk.
Have you listen to Locked on Rockets by Ben DuBose. It's daily half an hour podcast. You've probably already heard of it.
Second this. It removed the need for iheartradio app to listen to 790. They have a sister podcast "Locked on Texans". Its all you need for local sports and adding on the occasional PTI podcast for national sports. (add Bill Burrs podcast for funny mindless ramblings NSFW)
Sorry for your loss. In the future I suggest not tuning into his show. It prevents you from being subjected to his show.
Innes is mostly entertaining. More fun than Charlie. Charlie is still better overall. Best is have both, with their separate shows. 790 only has 12 hours of local rep. Do more
I love Josh's show, he wore out his welcome on 610 with the stupid voice machine but Jim seems to keep him in check. The show is pretty entertaining and high energy. If you flip back and forth between his show and the Zero Threat its literally like going from a bachelor party to a funeral. Its a radio variety show and if the occasion demands it, they'll talk sports
Honestly, I would rather listen to Innes now than to Charlie, ten times out of ten. Full disclosure, I never liked Charlie - he was arrogant, condescending, constantly interrupted callers, and literally did the same exact shtick every single day. Yeah, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of sports trivia. But so what if he was aggravating, and boring at best. I don't give a flip if anyone listens to Innes or not, but I will say that mindless, closed-off hate is not healthy. I never even one time listened to 610 when Innes was on there, so I don't have this pre-conceived idea of what he is/was. I just listened to what I heard for myself, and I like it a heck of a lot better than I ever liked Charlie.
You can add me to the small camp that doesn't mind Innes. I didn't start listening to sports radio until 2 years ago and to be honest other than the triple threat and greg and ND, you could switch any personality on 610 and 790 with another and I'd never know the difference. They all feel and sound the same to me.
I don't recall Charlie interrupting callers. He wasn't condensending or arrogant, he just wasn't a local homer.... that's the main reason people don't like him. He wasn't an NYC homer either, though. He tells it like it is, but most people need to be coddled.
That isn't even remotely true. I don't have time in my life for daily negative vibes like that. Obviously what he offered is better than a racist, douchebag, idiot, but I wasn't sad to see Charlie go
Wow. He honestly never came across that way to me. He made it a point to take as many calls as possible, and was very fair with people. BUT, people call me arrogant.
