    Within the Evangelical Christian community, this guy is widely considered to be a complete JOKE. What he preaches is half-truths and half of it cannot be backed up by the Bible whatsoever.

    Osteen seems like and ok guy, but his "preaching" is a complete joke, its more self-help than anything else

    his wife on the other hand is a total b****

    even if you believe it is a sin (which I don't), it is not a "cardinal rule of the bible"

    like Osteen said, it is no more a sin than anything else, a sin is a sin

    If it was all about spreading the love the guy would be in a regular house driving a camry or ford, and most of it would be to his community, to charities, etc.

    Don't forget to buy his book.. The rims on Osteens car are pretty nice. I saw him at the Grotto one time eating it up like a king. He certainly likes to take care of himself.

    When I think of Osteen I think of James 5:3
    'Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire.Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days'

    good for him he gets to pay the ultimate by using god to promote his finances. Takes a certain kind of person to do that. Good for him he has to live with that.

    you know, he doesn't take a dime from his church/ministry. his personal wealth comes from his book revenue.

    as much as i used to think the guy was a huge sleazebag, he really doesn't seem that awful. i guess a question for christians on here is, do you think it's a good thing that joel reaches so many people in with his hopeful message, or do you think the watered down prosperity-gospel is harmful/fake enough that it's not worth all the people who have been "saved" through joel's work?

    I can't help but think Joel has some seriously messed up stuff going on in the inner workings of his mind, or behind the scenes in his life. Just the vibes he gives off gives me the major creeps. Like he has a stash of bodies in his basement, or he has voices talking to him.
