Miami hasnt done jack since Lebron left. Riley's big deal was giving Hassan Whiteside a max deal, thats really bad.
Just because we havent won championships in the era of the greatest and most stacked team ever, doesnt mean we are a bad team. Its absolutely not smart to judge all your success by championships.
Regular season and 2 WCF appearances. Wouldn't call it huge success given that you have the best 'Player of Alltime' in terms of Offense arguably.
And how would they build a contender. They have to free up 34 million to take on butler. Hey have to trade contracts to teams with cap or philly. They’ll have to lose so many assets including picks, Richardson or Winslow, dump Dragic, dump another player to get below the hard cap, possibly their first just to get butler. Then they’re hard capped right at the apron. So the team that they have after Butler is the only team they can have this year unless people want to given up good players for Whiteside/Anderson/Johnson/Olynyk/waiters. Then the next year they do not have enough salary cap for a 7 year max player. If butler pushes for Miami Riley cannot build a team and butler is sacrificing winning for lifestyle. Which isn’t husband prerogative. But that’s not Moreys fault. He could the. Pivot and build a package to get love with Capela and expirings use MLE on wings/centers and still have stump and ego as trade bait. Could be better scenario
Crap. Crap. Crap. Crap. How the hell does Miami keep screwing us over?!? I know the humidity and scenery sucks in Houston, but you can WIN here!!! Bet it was Riley leaking all that drama behind the scenes stuff! Argh!!!!
Its more sucess than any other franchise besides the Spurs or Warriors in the west. I would call it huge. If we are speaking relatively(which when you are talking sports its mostly always relative) than yea, it is huge. Harden is amazing. No other star(except maybe Lebron) could do what hes done. And Morey is one of the best GMs in the league.
