Just said it on radio on 710 ESPN they''l have the interview up later on their interview. He said big men take 3-4 solid years to develop and thats what Jerry West continually stressed to him and he was surprised that Morey gave up Hill so easily.

I agree with this, but that doesn't mean that Morey made the wrong move. We're still in win now mode and are not that interested in developing young players [to tank or not is a different issue].

He had to get rid of the dead weight taking up the salary space.

Not yet. We will get a first rounder one way or another. Maybe next year. Maybe in 2014. At the latest in 2018.

Jordan Hill was a great rebounder when he was with the Rockets. His problems is he is a horrible passer, below average defender, and streaky shooter. Basically all he can do is rebound.

Wait - this is the same guy that gave away Lamar Odom? Just clarifying.

Maybe. However, considering Hill is an unrestricted free agent this summer, the mistake was more likely made by LA.

Considering how Odom performed this year (basically being chased out of Dallas for sucking) I would say that move made him look like a genius.

Really? If anything it goes to show Odom fit with their system perfectly and removing him was a big mistake. He doesn't fit with Dallas. He didn't fit with teams before LA either. They had something there...

Jordan was just so darn inconsistent. He'd look like a righteous force one night, like one of Jerry's kids (sorry, Dr. Buss) the next. Sometimes he looked stoned, or like his hands were made of stone... Ah, well. Here's hoping PPatt rehabs properly this time around.

pretty sure odom did pretty well in miami and the clippers had nothing to do with just being on the lakers- he was just really butthurt about being traded i am sure once he gets his head back on straight he'll be back to playing pretty well again

Lamar Odom played horrible this season.

I also believe that we should've kept Jordan Hill, and made a mistake letting him go so cheap. Some say all he does is rebound and block a few shots...these are the same ones screaming about our lack of rebounds and a deterrent at the rim.

He was also developing his jumpshot from 15 ft and working on his post game. He was a double double waiting to happen.

I hope we sign him this off season, again. Watching Pat get the ball in the post is embarrassing. But that is what we seem to do in Houston...Pat is a jump shooter, put him in the post. Morris is an undersized 4, make play the 3. Jordan Hill is a pick'n'roll player, make him into a Brad miller clone....and so on.

    Jordan Hill >>>>>Patrick Patterson.

I agree with Buss on this. Jordan has shown flashes and he's still young. Bynum is a great example of this. He was constantly getting trashed by Kobe when he entered the league. Now he's probably the most important player on the team and the future of the franchise.

but as for jim buss' comments lets see if he invests the 20-30 million over the next 4-5 years for Hill

just because he had one good game second coming of Kevin Garnett he is not - he had several good games here in Houston like that he just is very inconsistent
