this is why houston fans are considered the most fair weather fans. would it have made any difference if that ball would have rattled the rim 3 times and not gone in? was lin a joke when he nailed that game winner 3 with the knicks last year? if you're gonna judge a player based on one play, lebron is a joke. kobe is a joke. MJ is a joke.
Exactly! He would've been praising Lin instead if he had made that potential game winning three. This type of thread/reaction is uncalled for.
Speaking of Kobe, I'm sure everyone remembers the ultimate 3 airballs against Utah. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWgfx-bXsg4 If a 5x NBA champion breaks down in clutch time, what makes anyone here thinks a player with less than 50 start won't?
Try put another pg who has the similar skill set as Lin in his situation, I bet he will also look like a mediocre pg if not worse. The truth is that Harden and Lin can't co-exist unless one of them sacrifice himself. Clearly Lin did. That's why he looked so pathetic out there. Blame Morey.
Alright I was kinda hard on Lin earlier. I've calmed down since then and kinda regret some of the harsh things I said. Overall he had a solid game and did a lot of good things in the 3rd to bring us back. 3 blocks is wild too. He blocked Lebron, right.
this is utterly bull**** from lin fans. lin played well last season with carmelo. how is lin's inability to hit a jump shot related to harden?
Lin obviously didn't play as well as he did in linsanity run after melo came back. They were basically still running MDA's offense. So the ball was still in Lin's hands. And he is the only one who was running the offense on the court. Melo doesn't have pg skill after all, but Harden did. That's why their positions are kind of overlapped. One MUST makes room for the other. So now Harden became the focal point. Lin is never a good shooter. He only shoots well when he gets into rhythm. Now that you take the ball out of his hand and make him a spot-up shooter, the only thing you can see is his poor shooting. His weakness is significantly magnified while his strength is suppressed.
I don't see my post is bashing Harden at all. Lin is not a idol to me, but I support this kid. I just state the fact that is obvious to everyone except those haters.
Morey sc**wed this up. He didn't expect the Harden trade, just like he didn't think the knicks would let Lin go. But you take Harden no matter what. Like he said, normally those players like Harden are just not available. However with Harden on board, Lin's talent gonna be wasted. I wouldn't be surprised if Lin is traded in the near future. But I still hope they can figure this offense out. Both of them are not playing to their strengths.
It doesn't matter if Lin is traded away. Harden will still have the same problem whether Lin is here or not (and it's the same problem Lin has since some of their strengths overlap) -- Asik can't play the pick and roll. I guess Rockets could trade Lin for a PnR PF, but then the paint's clogged with this person and Asik. I think this team is poorly constructed, but I guess Morey was hoping for Dwight.
