Gumpy's point though is like don't leave early in an opera, and if you have to, don't come sit in the front row. I think that's legit.
I've never cared for Stern. He wasn't all that shocking ever, and is more annoying than funny most of the time. I love Van Gundy. If Stern doesn't have time to go to the whole game then don't get front row tickets. If you have time to go to a game go to the game. If you have time for half the game, watch it on TV, or sit in the back. Let someone who has made time for the whole game watch it from the floor. As usual Stern doesn't know what he's talking about.
If you don't have time to go to the game, don't go to the game. You're spending money for front row seats, so I'm inclined to believe that you came intending to stay. The fact that Stern went off like he did suggests that he feels a bit of guilt, methinks.
Guilt for what? Because he tools seats away from some other millionaire who would have stayed the entire time?
Some went to the games for fun, some for entertainment, some for meeting the celebs. But I wish those who got the front row seats were there to support their teams, genuine sport fans. It's a shame to see all those empty seats in Toyota Center while the commentators said the game was a sold-out. To stay in your seat and support the team until the last second is the etiquette, to show respect to the game and the players.
Stern was correct; radio guys get up early and do lots of research and content prep, and those seats are god awful expensive so he can do what he wants. Even if the head coach who held on to an opposing player's leg in a playoff brawl was kidding, why egg on a talk show host?
