He would be a big improvement, but that team needs a coach who won't coddle egos. One of JVG's major flaws with the Rockets was his sickening deferential treatment of McGrady.

The Nets kind of remind me of JVG's Rockets teams -- Lopez being Yao, Williams/Johnson being McGrady, plus a bunch of players with low offense talent around those guys. Transforming this bunch into a staunch defensive team is probably the way to go.

If JVG gets the job, it'll be the 2nd time he takes over what PJ Carlesimo cannot handle. The first time it was Latrell Sprewell.

JVG would turn Lopez into the best center in the league.

Great addition. Good work ethic coach, trust issues with rookies though. He don't trust those b****es.

JVG hasn't coached in a long time. The game has changed a lot since then, not sure he can adapt to be successful

JVG should not go to a team with a coach killing player. Just ask his old brother Stan.

Why do people make absolutely dumb comments like this. He's been around the league for a long time I'm pretty sure he knows how to adjust. I think he'd be a great fit for any team the nets need to bolster their bench and PF position though.

You know he hasn't exactly been living under a rock since the Rockets days, right?

I think this is quite a good read on the offense and defensive schemes in the NBA, and how it's so much more complex than what we fans can think up/analyse. Although if somebody like Mark Jackson can somehow get the Warriors to the 2nd round, I think JVG will have no problem with the Nets roster.

Basketball will always boil down to fundamentals - boxing out, rebounding, and defense. Brooklyn has more than enough offense. JVG should have no problems.

    the nets need to

1.trade lopez and joe johnson for dwight howard and metta
2.trade deron for CP3 in a sign and trade since cp3 wants out and deron doesnt seem to happy in brooklyn
3.Sign some veterans on the cheap(oj mayo)
    4.Develop Marshon

    Cp3
    Mayo
    Metta
    Reggie Evans
    Dwight

thats a legit starting 5 and marshon can become a jamal crawford type if given a chance and he cuts down on boneheaded plays

The NBA has changed so much so much that JVG can no longer coach.

How has Thibs gotten the Bulls to the playoffs?
